Questions & Answers
Is it formula or breastmilk that you're heating? It also depends on whether or not the weather is cold. I have my warmer set to 3 for breastmilk that has been taken out of the fridge. 25, it always comes out perfect; I believe you'll need to warm it longer with the formula, but I'm not sure. It's something you'd have to experiment with. Make sure to clean it every few weeks to ensure that it heats up evenly every time, and your warmer will perform admirably. There's also a list on the back of the warmer that tells you how long it takes to heat milk or food.
Is it possible to use it with Phillip Avent baby bottles?
Yes. Because glass bottles hear better than plastic bottles, we use them and reduce the time on the warmer.
Because Tommee Tippee bottles are a little wide, heating them looks strange, but it works fine; we exclusively used TT bottles and this warmer to feed our son. Everything went smoothly.

Dr. Brown's is one of the few bottle warmers that uses steam instead of submerging the bottle in water, which I didn't realize until I tried a half dozen different bottle warmers (and then returned them). There are three advantages to this that have proven to be significant to me: 1. br>br> It is not necessary to fill and empty the warmer before each use. You simply fill the reservoir on the side, which holds about ten bottles. The early months of baby care are filled with monotonous, mundane tasks, similar to those of a Nespresso machine. This is yet another thing I didn't require. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br You never have to estimate how much water you'll need based on the amount of milk you have on hand. I. If it's only a two-person team, 3 oz snack for your child; if using a "submersion" warmer like Tommee Tippee, make sure there isn't too much fill water in the bottle or it will float and tip over. If you use too little, the liquid will evaporate before the bottle reaches the desired temperature. You'll be fine with Dr. Browns as long as the reservoir is full of water. Regardless of how much milk is inside the bottle, it sits on a mesh plastic platform and is engulfed by steam. br>br>3. It quickly heats up the bottle. About 3. 5 - A 5 oz bottle from the fridge takes 4 minutes to heat up. From frozen, it takes about 6 minutes. Submersible warmers take longer to warm because they must first heat the cool tap water to near boiling before they can begin warming the milk. The Tommee Tippee warmer, for example, took about 7 minutes to warm up. A 5 oz bottle from the fridge takes 8 minutes to heat up. 10- A frozen bottle will set you back $15. It may not appear to make much of a difference, but it does when your baby is already wailing. And RE: Points 1 and 2 are even worse if you have to first fill the warmer with just the right amount of water. br>br>Now for the one major CON - br>br>This is a narrow bottle warmer made specifically for Dr. Brown's narrow bottles. As a result, many of the wider "more like mom" bottles that are becoming increasingly popular will not fit. We recently decided on the NUK Simply Natural bottles, which are shaped like a breast but are still narrower than Tommee Tippee or ComoTomo - This bottle warmer requires a narrow enough opening to work with it. Both are excellent choices! br>br>Here's what I had to say about the NUK bottle:.
We purchased this bottle warmer under the impression that Dr. Browns was the new fad in baby feeding equipment. We even thought the first one we bought was faulty, but no, the top of ours gets so hot that we can barely lift it out of the warmer, despite the fact that the milk inside is ice cold. 3 minutes 40 seconds for lukewarm milk is an e if you have a screaming infant at 3 a. m. or at any other time. It doesn't let you know when the water reservoir is empty or low on water. Just a cold bottle after you've been wondering when the timer will go off, or if you actually pressed the on button (twice) to start it; the reservoir has such a small opening that you can't fill it without spilling, and then you have to turn it upside down to connect to the warmer! It has a stench that refuses to go away, even when bleach is used. My husband and I finally realized that we both despise this thing after 4 months of frustration!.
The first was a secondhand gift that served me well for two years. The second one, which we purchased because we already owned all of their glass bottles and wanted to stick with this brand, quickly deteriorated. I had only ever used distilled water in the unit, so it was getting a lot of nasty buildup inside. When I called the company, they accused me of doing it incorrectly and failing to properly cap the bottles. While this isn't true, I did everything I could to make sure this didn't happen and that it wasn't because of my actions. It had deteriorated to the point where I had to throw it out after another year. I bought a third one in an possibly insane move. We still have all of the glass bottles, and I wanted to give it another shot, especially since this third unit came with a new "cap" that the company now requires on all bottles. I believe they are aware of the flaw in the design but are unwilling to correct it because it is too expensive. Every time we warm a bottle, the cap on my third has been used. I keep using distilled water, and it fills up with this disgusting film and floaters every time. Cleaning the reservoir is a difficult task. This is the last unit I'll be taking. I'm going to look for another brand that will accept these bottles.
This gets a 3 from me. 5 stars. The time it takes to heat bottles from similar temperatures and with similar quantities does not appear to be very consistent. I've also discovered that it causes the milk bottles to leak. As a result, milk begins to accumulate in the water, cakeing on the sides of the warming container and backing up into the water reservoir. However, it works well and heats bottles up much faster than putting them in hot water.
This is a fantastic bottle warmer. Because I usually transport my minion in my other arm, I appreciate that it was designed to be used one-handed. Advantages: br>br>
1. When you turn it on, it remembers the last time you used it and goes to that setting. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Cons: Takes a long time to heat up bottlesbr>br>
1. I have to fill the small water tank on the side of my house every day. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br It's a little taller than I'd like, but it fits under the cabinets just fine. As a result, there isn't much of a con.
This is the ideal warmer! We purchased it nine months ago and use it six times a week. It's still going strong after 7 days of use! The only maintenance we've had to do is soak the reservoir to ensure that mold doesn't form. I like how it remembers the last time I used it, so all I had to do was pop the bottle in and press the play button when I wanted to use it again! With a hungry baby, the faster the better! We use Playtex ventaire bottles with a 9-ounce capacity, and they heat up in just 5 minutes and 20 seconds. When it's finished heating, it beeps three times and lights up for the duration of the countdown. This is something I strongly suggest!.
