My newborn is going to use these. I don't have to worry about cutting his fingernails with clippers because I can file down his sharp nails instead. The only thing I wish I had brought to the hospital was the nail file so we could have filed his nails the moment he was born! We were not given nail clippers in our hospital and the nurses wouldn't trim or file our nails. We still use these at 3 months because they are so convenient and easy to use. It would be impossible for me to progress to clippers after a lack of sleep.

These are quite sturdy and seem to work well, but my 2 month old son is such a restless infant that they are nearly impossible to use, even when he is asleep he wakes up cranky and crying so I haven't been able to try them out too Even if my son were a bit older and didn't move around so much, I'd choose nail slippers so that I can clip them as soon as he wakes up, at least he doesn't care when he sleeps or when he walks around.
