It was very flimsy and not as sturdy as I had anticipated. During our 6-hour road trip, my 4-year-old was not pleased. He claimed that despite the fact that it was fastened around him, it simply slid around. My toddler refused to let me try the second one on his lap, so I didn't get to try it. It works, but not in the way I had hoped.
