What is the recommended frequency for changing the crystals? Is this a one-time use item?

One packet of crystals is included in the package. I haven't used my pillows in a few months, and I have no plans to change the water. I suppose you could replace the old water, but then you'd have to replace the crystals that had turned into a gel substance inside; I'll have to look into whether crystals are sold separately.

Is there a package of one or two?

There are two of them! I'd buy two sets of these. Because the water temperature rises over time, it's a good idea to keep a cooler one on hand. Reminder: Fill the container with water a little at a time. It becomes too heavy when there is too much water in it. I only used about a quarter of the tap water to fill my pillows. I hope this has been of assistance.

It's what I refer to as my "cooling water pillow"! These are a must-have for all menopausal women! I use two at night because I switch between them if one gets too hot

My grandson sweats profusely and uses these to keep cool. One suggestion: It's best not to fill it more than halfway because it'll be too heavy. Fill a little at a time and weigh to your liking. Fill the container with the full amount of crystals, but not all the way to the top.

My husband is mostly confined to a wheelchair; he can walk a little with a walker but prefers to sit. He's been whining about how hot his butt is. So that's why I bought these so far; he loves them, and even after they cool down, just adjusting in his chair with the help of the water seems to help. There have only been a few days, and there have been no leaks anywhere. The only drawback is that it's made of cloth, which is strong and useful but also slick. He almost fell out of his chair because of it, but I wrapped it in non-slip material and that solved the problem. I use a funnel to make it easy to fill. I also keep one in the fridge and swap it out in the morning. As a result, he spends the entire day with only one cold cup that he has filled with tap water.
