Questions & Answers

Is it possible to combine this product with a stroller battery pack?

The only cord it comes with is the attached cord (which can't be removed as far as I know) and it has the little pronged part that plugs into a cigarette lighter in the car, so I don't think so, unless you can rig it up in some way.

Was there a problem with the size of the head fan?

The fan is located at the bottom of the seat pad and does not have a head. The oval headrest piece has a porous surface that allows for less heat retention. It's also detachable, so you can take it off whenever you want.

Is this legal in terms of car safety?

As a CPST, I'll advise you to consult your car seat manual, which will almost certainly prohibit the use of an aftermarket product between the child and the seat. This item was found to be free of lead during testing. free of phthalates and phthalate-free Free (the CPSIA testing mentioned in the description), but not necessarily crash tested, let alone crash tested with all types of car seats.

Will be used in a reclining wheelchair for a child who has a half-heart that is connected to a power source. I'd appreciate it if someone could provide me with some dimensions. ?

The headrest is 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches and does not have a ventilation system. The distance from the bottom of the headrest to the fan is 28 inches, and the bottom piece is the fan hanging down, which is 7 inches by 5 1/2 inches.br> Below the headrest is 10 1/2 inches wide, and the bottom part is 12 inches wide.

Selected User Reviews For BreezyPad Baby Car Seat Cooling Pad Liner with Fan (Gray) by Breezy Kids (Front Facing Car Seat Only)

It's a good start, but it needs to be improved
3/5

It works, but there are a few tweaks that need to be made. Even after attaching the headrest portion, it does not remain vertical. My car seat's tether is in between my son's legs, making it difficult to cinch down the restraints. The fan has engulfed that area. Finally, the slots for inserting the car seat buckle aren't in the most convenient location. All of these problems make it impossible for me to keep the insert upright, making it extremely difficult to get my son in and out. br>br>SO. I'm going to try to solve these problems by removing the slotted section entirely and replacing it with a large rectangle of space. I'll also split the bottom section to make pulling the tether easier. Finally, I believe I will attempt to velcro or tether the insert to the car seat in some way to prevent it from sliding down. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: My successful modification is documented in the photos attached. I hacked away at a keystone-shaped piece of wood. I duct taped a small hole near the bottom of the box. This allowed me to reach the car seat's tightening tether without having to move the cushion. This is something I'm going to try and see if it helps keep it in place.

AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ACCESSORY FOR CAR SEATS! I must say that the Soonsi car seat cooling pad liner with fan is AMAZING
5/5

AMAZING. EXTREMELY VALUE FOR MONEY. There are a plethora of other superlatives that can be used. Why? Our infant is the reason. since the age of a month and a half has a history of overheating in his car seat (and becoming enraged when he does). When he first screamed nonstop for 15 minutes, we were in shock. We bought a cooling mesh pad after 20 minutes on the road (when we pulled over and discovered him drenched from head to toe). This worked fine until he reached the age of 12 or so. 15 lbs, then his weight squished it down to the point where it was no longer functional. About an hour into our drive, he returned to interrupting our hot and sweaty conversations. For a time, he was also enraged by his car seat. Until we started using this, and now he loves his car seat again, sitting in it for an extended period of time because he's actually comfortable. br>br>We saw this one early on but didn't buy it because of some bad reviews (weak fan, unreliable), plus they said it was only for front-row seats. seats that are facing each other (The mesh pads got a lot of praise. ) ) However, the Soonsi was the only product available for infants who required active ventilation. So we placed an order for it, and the following is what we discovered: PROS: br>br>
1. IT ACTUALLY DOES WORK. Our baby is now two years old. Long drives of 3 hours with no problems or screams. In temperate climates, I've tried it on low and medium settings, and it still keeps my baby's back cool.
2. The pudding speaks for itself. Our baby's back stays cool for hours, and we can tell when the thing isn't turned on (due to human error): In 30-minutes, it gets hot, sweaty, and screams. It takes 60 minutes to complete.
3. It appears that the pad is simple to clean and dries quickly. We've had two blowouts, both of which have been washed in mild dish soap and rinsed several times. It appears to dry in a couple of hours after a few blot cycles with paper towels. br>4. Works with rear-facing car seats as well (we have a Doona); Rather than allowing the fan to hang down, simply flip it up. To accommodate the Doona's strap locations, some new holes will need to be cut. CONS: br>br>
1. There is no disadvantage: Actual air movement is barely felt from the pad, as other reviewers have noted. However, it is effective. br>2. Because the pad is stiff, it can be difficult to place. br>3. A 5V 2 is, in my opinion, the best option. 1 or 2. However, depending on your setup, the 4 amp USB connector may be more useful than the cigarette adapter that comes with it. br>br>BATTERY TIP: br>I recommend pairing the Soonsi with a portable power bank of about 20,000 mAh (lasts hours even at high speed) for travel systems (car seat clips into a stroller base) or the Doona (car seat turns into stroller) where extended time is spent in the car seat. There are two options available to you:
1. The simplest solution is to use a lithium battery jump starter with a cigarette female adapter, but these are bulky and come in obnoxious colorsbr>2. USB 2. 0 port on a traditional portable power bank 1 or 2. 4 amp ports and a USB to cigarette female adapterbr>br>I believe that many infants and toddlers who despise car seats do so because they despise the hot, swampy misery they cause. It's possible that even those who "do fine" once they're in front of the camera are suffering from heat exhaustion. Adding more distractions may simply serve to divert their attention away from their misery. Those who upgrade from a small rear-facing car seat to a larger "convertible" car seat will benefit from the extra space, which will help to reduce heat buildup. This car seat cooler with fan comes highly recommended by me.

It is extremely effective
5/5

My four-year-old and six-month-old both enjoy it. We live in Arizona, where it can reach temperatures of over 100 degrees on some days. After using this product, we no longer have sweaty backs, and when I turn it on, I can feel the wind blowing. It isn't particularly powerful, but it is adequate for moving air and removing heat from their backs. br>Although we love this product, I'd like to point out that the fan is zipped in its bag, but the zipper puller has been sawed and replaced. I have to cut the thread with my scissors to remove the fan so that I can wash the mat. Perhaps they believe that if they don't, the zipper will fall down, but since this is a child's product, it will undoubtedly become dirty and require washing. I'm hoping they'll use a better zipper in the future because the one they're currently using doesn't seem to last very long.

It works perfectly and can be powered by a USB battery bank and a 12V/car cigarette adapter
5/5

Works great, keeps our little one cool and comfortable, and keeps him from sweating too much on those hot east coast days. It's what we put on our stroller. I was concerned that it would not work because it requires a 12V car cigarette plug, but I used USB-C instead. As someone else mentioned in one of their reviews, I used a 12V adapter (see link below) and it worked perfectly; We can run it at full speed, and the battery kept the fan running for a few hours while we were at the zoo.

There's no room for it, and there's very little airflow
3/5

When the liner is put into place, it completely covers the shoulder straps, as shown in the product video at the 40 second mark. br>br>I was surprised to discover that it didn't even come close to fitting our car seat's seat belts and headrest. I was also surprised that even on the highest setting, where it sounded like the fan was spinning at breakneck speed and making a lot of noise, there was very little air coming out of the pad. On the highest setting, the amount of air that comes out is exactly what I expected on the lowest setting. br>br>I understand this is for a front-facing car seat, but ours will be turned around to face forward soon, and we will have the same problems.

There was a lot less whining from the backseat
5/5

My 5-year-old daughter has always complained about how sweaty her back gets in her car seat, and there's not much you can do about it if they're properly strapped in. This has been extremely effective! It's more powerful than I expected, but it still requires 5-minutes to complete. It takes her ten minutes in a hot car to feel the effects, but she does. At its loudest setting, it is very loud, and some kids, like mine, find the white noise soothing to sleep, but others may not. I had to adjust the car seat straps and pads to account for the extra height in the seat, but we were good to go after that. So far, we've been pleased with our purchase.
