Questions & Answers

Is there a product that doesn't melt into the leather seat?

This one doesn't melt, believe it or not. I have two, one in the car with black leather and the other with grey leather - In both heat and cold, there are no issues. The Britax ClickTight system keeps the seat firmly in place, and the seat protector prevents indents and stretch marks in the leather.

What sets the "Elite" DuoMat apart from other DuoMats?

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. The Summer Infant Elite DuoMat measures 6 inches by 6 inches. For added protection, the mattress is 5" taller and made of premium memory foam.

Is it possible to use this as a toddler car seat?

It can, but you might have trouble getting the back of the pad to stay up on the back seat because the pad is held in place by the tall back of a regular car seat. Because my back seat has a head rest, I was able to rig the seat cover so that it would be held in place by hooking it to the head rest. I stopped using car seats about 12 years ago, and all I needed was something to protect my leather seats from my older "children" who are 17 and 20 years old (: ) when they're eating and drinking God knows what in the back! LOL! It keeps all of the crumbs off of my seats. But, now that I think about it, if you use a booster seat, your child's back may very well hold the seat in place when they lean against it. It's not a flimsy mat (it's of good quality), and it could very well stay in place without flipping forward (depending on the texture of your seats, of course). All of this is to say that ordering it and trying it out is probably the best option, and if it doesn't work for you, you can always return it. I'm very pleased with mine! I hope this information is useful and does not appear to be overly complicated.

With a rear-facing seat, does it stay up all the way? Or will it buckle even if the car seat isn't fully secured against the cover?

On the back section of the mat, fold it at the crease. This provided plenty of protection for my seat, which was facing backwards. When you sit in the back seat, less of the car seat rubs against your vehicle. The mat stayed firmly in place beneath and at the foot of your rear-facing seat, providing excellent protection.

My new truck's fabric has been melted
3/5

Horrible! My new seat was ruined, and the fabric of my 2017 Ford Explorer was literally melted. I do not recommend it, and I have pictures to prove it.

Seat Cover is of good quality
4/5

I purchased two of these and am pleased with them thus far. I chose this because I needed a car seat cover that would work for both front and back seats. I wanted rear-facing and later forward-facing seats, as well as a seat cover that wouldn't stain the leather interior. I chose these after doing far too much research. We've been using these for about a year and they've proven to be effective. I was able to get a very tight fit using this method with both the infant and rear-facing cameras. convertible seats that can face each other In fact, compared to my husband's car, which doesn't have a seat cover, I believe the installation is much more secure. The car seat slides on his leather, but the seat cover prevents it from sliding on mine; I originally installed it with the Chicco Keyfit 30 and it fit perfectly. We upgraded to the Graco 4Ever after about 10 months of continuous use. Indentations or marks on my tan leather interior were not visible when I removed the seat cover between installs. After enduring a hot Atlanta summer, I was concerned that the black mat would melt and leave marks, but they did not.

For the past five years, I've been protecting vehicle seats
5/5

At the moment, we have four of these mats strewn about a Honda Odyssey Minivan. We adore them, and they work, as you can see. Our oldest child is five years old, and our youngest child is three months old. They're all in excellent condition. There are no tears or seams, and the waterproof material does not crack, even in high-stress areas such as where the car seats sit on the mat. br>br>These mats were all brand new when we ordered them. None of them have caused us any problems. There have been no unpleasant odors to contend with. They're made well. br>br>These mats are constantly catching items and protecting the van's seats. From crumbs to liquid, anything goes. One day, our little girl dozed off and had a mishap. When we got home, the mat contained a puddle, allowing us to clean everything up without a single drop getting on the van's seat. br>br>Most toys are stored in the mesh storage compartments in the front of the mats. Whatever you put in there will be smashed to bits! The youngsters are powerless to stop themselves. br>br>The seat belt paths in the mat are well placed. Their legs and feet hang out of the car seat, and whatever is in these storage areas will be kicked for the duration of the ride. br>br> I move the child seats around a lot in the truck so that the kids can take turns running errands with me. When doing this, I'm grateful that the mat isn't a hindrance or a hindrance. The mats, in my opinion, do not help the child seat stay in place. If you're using a belt system, make sure your child seat is securely fastened. This mat will not help you with a proper seat installation. br>br>In the state where I work, I'm a car seat technician. These mats piqued my interest, so I inquired with our car seat instructors. They claimed that they are too frail to manipulate a proper child seat installation. The only time a mat becomes too thick and settles over time, allowing the seat to become loose, is when it is too thick. This is not the case with these mats. br>br>We told everyone with children about these. In a variety of ways, it will save your vehicle's seats. One mat has already transitioned from under an infant seat to a forward-facing seat. That's the kind of toughness we're looking for. They are well worth the money. br>br>I will update this review if anything changes with these mats. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

This is a fantastic way to keep your seats safe
4/5

This is an excellent way to separate my child's car seat from my brand new car seat. It has a thicker pad at the base that prevents indentations from the car seat. We have the seat folded down to only cover where your child's feet will touch if they are rear facing, but you can have it folded up to only cover where your child's feet will touch if they are front facing. Right now, my son is looking forward. It is simple to clean the material. Although it shouldn't get that dirty, it's easy to spot clean or even throw in the washing machine. I like that there's a small compartment that hangs over the seat where you can store small toys, snack bags, and sippy cups, though most car seats can accommodate sippy cups as well. Another way to keep your vehicle clean and organized is to use a car organizer. My other child's booster seat will be replaced with one of these. Also, for the price, it's a great buy. We've had good luck with other items from the Summer brand. They're well-made and last a long time, so I have no doubt that this will be the same.

Exactly what my seats required in terms of protection! My Toyota Sequoia has leather seats, and I was constantly worried that my daughter's toddler seat would rip the leather
5/5

I would recommend the Summer Infant DuoMat to any family because it covers the entire seat and has thicker areas right where the toddler seat rubs.

You can rest assured that your seats will be spotless
5/5

When my first child was born four years ago, I bought one of these to protect my brand-new leather seats. I bought a second DuoMat because the first did such a good job and lasted so long. For that seat, I had to wait another 5 years until my second child was born. Now, fast forward to now, and the kids have completely destroyed the interior of the car - with the exception of the chairs. We recently moved to the suburbs and needed to purchase a second car, and the car is filthy but the seats are immaculate. I bought *two more* after seeing what four years of kids did to our old car and how well the DuoMats protected the seats (and the DuoMats themselves are practically new). Seriously, it's a fantastic product; I've purchased four, and it's not because they're cheap; it's because they're so good!.

I was initially pleased with how well this protected my seats
3/5

Initially, I was impressed with how well this item protected my seats and how long it seemed to last. Unfortunately, when I removed the seat protector to clean underneath it, I discovered the gray foam (non-replaceable) underneath. The back (slip) material had crumbled and was strewn across the seat beneath it. It wasn't obvious until the cover was removed that this was the case.

Photos that are misleading - mat is not as long as it appears in the photo
3/5

Overall, it's a good mat. The photos, on the other hand, are extremely deceptive. In the photos, the mat reaches almost to the top of the headrest (which is exactly what I wanted), but in reality, it only reaches about halfway up the seat back. We also have a small car with a back bench seat, so our seats aren't oversized.
