My baby is three months old and I purchased this to use for her. According to the reviews, the bouncer is safe for babies as young as 6 months (as stated on the box), but there was some disagreement about what the recommended age should be. In my opinion, all moms and babies need to decide for themselves. Three months into her life, my daughter was sitting up well (with assistance), holding her head up and moving it around well, and she was kicking her legs all the time. She's still got a little gap between her and the seat when I place her in the bouncer, so I learned to wrap up a swaddle blanket around her, as I wrapped it around her sides and back. When she gets bigger and taller I'm sure it'll be harder for her to fit in the seat as she gets bigger and taller. I wish the seat was mesh, as my baby gets very hot in it and wants to get out to cool off. Her favorite thing to do is bounce herself and enjoys discovering the toys. Okay, so when I bought this jumper for my son, I was very excited. Since I am a single mama of 6 month old girl/boy twins, I recently bought the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo (not on Amazon), which is technically for my daughter, though I don't really care about how the jumper is used by each twin. The pros of this toy are that it was incredibly easy to assemble and my son found it entertaining. I have not heard him cry for me to get him out of it after over 20 minutes, so that is a positive sign. He is actually in it right now because it just arrived today. Due to her daily nap, my daughter hasn't tried it yet. Anyhow, I will let you in on one con It has very little "jump. " " The straps are really stiff in comparison to the Fisher Price jumper, and my son doesn't seem to realize it's a jumper at all. It is probably because it offers so much spring that both twins possessed the ability to jump pretty fast with the Fisher Price product.
