One rear tire has been changed indication that it's close to a complete tear-up. It is my opinion that other reviewers are ripping on their durability and longevity. These were mounted on the rim of a motorcycle. My first use of it caused the wooden frame to fall apart. Considering their low price, they seem reasonable, but I wish they were more durable. It's ironic that they have one purpose in life, you would think that they'd stand the test of time. As a result, I gave it two stars instead of one because I did not scratch the rim, so, although I no longer have rim protectors because these ones are chewed up, they did provide the security I needed only once, and that was enough.
