Nothing in the description mentions silicone, and after the tyres have been cleaned and dried, they recommend using their protective spray, which contains silicone, which would obviously wash away during the next cleaning cycle.

It has always performed admirably. It had a slight acidity to it, in my opinion. It appears to have undergone some name changes, but the product remains the same. However, it became quite costly. This product appears to have made its way onto the market and appears to perform similarly to the original at a lower cost. Because it was the best price per ounce, I purchased a gallon. I believe that cleaning your tires and applying tire shine products to both sides afterward provides some protection and aids in the slowing down of dry rot. Because I don't drive very often, my tires usually begin to rot before the tread wears down to the point where they need to be replaced or the warranty expires. I'm currently experimenting with the more recent ceramic shine product. It's hoped that it will provide longer-lasting protection than some of the older shine products.
well. I believe one image captures the essence of the situation. br>br>This wheel came from a barn find Heritage Springer that sat for 5 years in a barn in the Appalachians. The bike had been dirty when it was put away. I expected this product to clean the tires a little, but I wasn't expecting the white walls to come back white. I started by soaping and watering the entire tire. After that, I did a side-by-side test on half of one side. br>br>My exact words when I hosed off the test section? "Holy $!" br>br>"Holy $!" br>br>"Holy $!" br>br ÷". br>br>Thickness is similar to that of water and is not at all thick. I took a 2x3 scrub brush and put a small amount of it in a small plastic container, dipped the bristles in, and scrubbed away. It produces suds in the same way that soap does. It is simple to remove. br>br>In my opinion, it is well worth the money.
Doesn't work on white walls that have been stained. This product works best on white walls that require little to no maintenance, which is why I gave it two stars, but think about it: Why would a white wall that requires no maintenance require this product? Soap and water will suffice, and for severely stained whitewalls where pumice, steel wool, and bleaches have failed, this will also fail, so don't waste your time or money. Now it's on to the next.
It's fantastic! We have two Show cars with large white walls, and this is the best product available for the job.
The whites of the teeth are not whitened by this product.
When using a brush, it works well.
