Questions & Answers
It is not, first and foremost, slick. Second, it dries quickly, and you don't want it to dry on the tire, so spray it on, scrub it in with a hard bristle brush to remove any dirt, and then hose it off. Many tire shines make the tires slick, but this one does not.
Yes, my wheels are made of aluminum alloy. It's not an acid, as some people believe. Because I have stock rubber floor liners in my car and rubber flooring in my truck, it's a soap that cleans any and all rubber.
This is the best product to use in this situation. We recommend using a good microfiber towel, such as our edgeless utility towel, to spray on and agitate the product. Thanks!
On powder-coated rims, I'm not sure I used it.

The black powder coating on my bead lock wheels was completely etched away by this product, and they turned gray, just like my tires. I submitted my application on a cool night before the holidays. spayed, brush scrubbed, rinsed, and re-sprayed Using a brush, I rinsed the dish. I make a living selling commercial cleaning chemicals, so I'm familiar with the chemistry and application of cleaning products. Either the citric acid content was much higher than it should have been, or the incorrect type of acid was used. They should probably go over their retains. br>br>I'm not impressed or pleased with the work that has just been done. Simply removing the bead lock rings and torqueing them to the proper ft lbs is a lot of work. All four wheels were etched. There are a total of 104 bolts in this picture! I'll be able to do the necessary wheel paint correction, but it'll be tedious and time-consuming. They can keep their 110% guarantee because I guarantee this is the first and last Adams product I’ll ever allow to touch one of my vehicles they’ll allow to touch% At this point, the $16 is a farce. I'd like to reclaim some of my lost time. Not to mention the fact that these wheels are $300 each, with Toyo MT 37" tires costing $500 each. br>br>Before selling chemistry with the ability to etch surfaces, they should do their homework. Use an alkaline or a pH neutral solution. Consumers are led to believe it can't harm them because it's "natural" (Citrus based). I'm surprised at how many positive reviews there are. br>br>Oh, and for what it's worth (not), the product did get rid of the browning on my tires, but they are now gray. SMH.
My tires have always had brown burnt spots all over them; I offroad a lot and assumed it was from squeezing my wheels between rocks and trapping dirt; I've scrubbed them with dawn dish soap, zep green cleaner, and shined them, but the brown spots persisted. I'd had it with trying. But I decided to give it another shot, and I recently purchased this tire cleaner from Amazon for $13 per bottle. I'm blown away by how well it functions. I figured I'd share it in the hopes that it might be useful to someone with permanently brown tires. I simply sprayed it on, waited 5 minutes to watch the grime melt away, and hosed it off; my tires now look brand new!.
It functions, but not in the way that was intended or on its own. br>br>I needed to clean some very dark tires. To get them back to their original black color, it took nearly an entire bottle of this product plus a second cleaner. br>br>According to the instructions, a small amount of product should be applied lightly. That was something I tried, but it didn't work out very well. I had to use drill mounted brushes to apply it liberally and with a lot of pressure. I also rinsed it with a pressure washer and dried it with a power blower; There was still spotting without the blower. Despite all of this, I had to repeat the process several times before I got satisfactory results. Even then, I had to combine it with another product before they returned to their original black color; I included a photo of the second cleaner, which I bought on Amazon. It's also worth noting that the second cleaner couldn't finish the job on her own. To achieve the results you see in the photos, I had to use both products.
I reasoned that it might clean tires more effectively and quickly than my usual method. A degreaser is added to the mix. In comparison to Meguiars Degreaser, Black Pearl Tire Coating's Omni Clean, and Purple Power, Adams Rubber and Tire is a complete loser when it comes to neglected tires. It works well on clean tires, but all degreasers do. The photo accompanying this review was taken after three applications, each with a lot of scrubbing. As you can see, there is still a lot of brown on the side wall when compared to the worn tire tread. Yuck! After that, I used Purple Power, which resulted in a clean, black finish. Adams Rubber and Tire Cleaner gets a big no from us.
Wheel had been waxed and shined. It works well on the tire, but I now have hours of work ahead of me to restore the luster of my aluminum wheels. Yes, I was very careful to follow the directions when I etched the surface. The wheels looked fantastic. This was the first time I had used it on another vehicle. I'll never buy this product again, perhaps because I'm nearing the end of the bottle or because the material in these wheels is different.
So I was expecting a good product, and when I got home, my porch was stained with tire and rubber cleaner. br>I've been trying to get the stain off the porch, and I'm going to rent a power sprayer to see if it works. br>Amazon delivered photo 2 to me, and as you can see, the drops were all over my porch, but he/she still left the package. br>Photo 1 shows what I found when I returned home. br>Photo 3 shows Adams Polishes' product with the lid removed. br>Amazon suggested contacting Adams to figure out how to get it off your porch. I'm hoping for someone to take responsibility for this mess, but I'm not holding my breath. br>Don't expect Adams to support the product, and don't expect Amazon to resolve the issue with anything more than lip service. Read the reviews; these leaks are common with Adams. br>I'm still waiting for Amazon to give me full credit for the product and remove the stain from my porch; the driver left photogenic proof that he/she left leaking product. br>If you're an Amazon Prime member, you decide. Please, Amazon, assist me. br>br>.
I'm afraid I won't be able to use the cleaner. The trigger sprayer that comes with the product is a complete waste of money. I work for a company that manufactures trigger sprayers for a variety of markets, but we aren't even considered competitors. When you try to spray, the bottle pulls free and falls to the ground because the threads on the bottle don't engage properly with the threads on the sprayer closure. The majority of the product was spilled after three times the bottle hit the ground. You can have the best products in the world, but if you're cheap and combine them with a garbage collection system, they'll be as good as water.
