Apparently the last set of wheels were made of inferior material, as they broke when the jack fell

Neither wheels nor trailer axles are made out of proper material. The last set of wheels broke when anchored down on uneven ground when the boat and trailer were loaded.

We had to replace broken wheels, and so we had to use a 1" socket

The wheels were broken, and the socket needed is a 1" one. There were very tight spaces, so thin walled sockets were required impact sockets would be too large.
