It is hard and stiff because all tungsten electrodes are made of it. Heat is not enough to bend them - they will simply However, if you want to break them you will have to exert a considerable amount of effort. Please accept my sincere thanks for your help.

In terms of the tungsten itself, it seems to be good. The three gauges I have used range from 3/16" to 1/4" A 3/8" plate and a standard wall pipe (both in A two star knock down is the result of It has never happened before to me to have melted paint on an electrode and contaminated my collets and gas lenses/collet bodies. If there are other buyers, I suggest they remove the paint on the sides of the tungsten and keep only a red dot on the end to identify the type.
As a reminder Radiation from thoriated tungsten can be hazardous, so it is a danger to your health to breath the dust from sharpening. The cirroated electrodes work fine as long as you need them, but if you don't, you should use lanthinated or cererated electrodes instead.
I am better at welding with their electrodes than I am with mine.
