Questions & Answers

Why does the needle have a rounded appearance? What is the point of it? My other numerous children are nothing more than a straight shaft. Isn't it just supposed to keep your hand safe?

Its main purpose, I believe, is to prevent you from accidentally pushing the tire strip too far, which is possible due to the insertion needle's length. While it's possible that it's meant to press against the plug as you pull the tool out, I've never had the plug come out when I removed it. It must be sufficiently lubricated with rubber cement, and if it is, it will easily come out without having to remove the plug. br>I'm always careful to brace my hand against the tire as I push the tire strip in, in case I accidentally push it too far and the whole strip gets pushed into the tire. The round spacer would simply make things easier by allowing you to push it all the way to the end.

There were no instructions included in my kit. Should it have? I'm familiar with repair kits, but I'd like to make sure I understand how to use this one. ?

Instructions are not required because the procedure is self-evident. After you've removed the nail or other object that punctured your tire, you use the awl with the twisted shaft to enlarge the hole, then lubricate the hole with the lubricant provided. After the hole has been lubricated, thread a fiber plug into the needled shaft and insert it into the puncture until half of the material is in the tire, then twist the shaft one quarter turn and withdraw the shaft, cutting the protruding material flush with the tire's surface with a razor blade, and the repair should be complete.

What is the material of the "T" handle? Is it better to use metal or plastic?

Because it is non-metallic, the handle appears to be made of aluminum. ferrous. I took the handle off, and it's surprisingly light for such a large piece of metal. br>Because both tools' business ends are magnetic, it's safe to assume they're made of carbon steel.

What is the case's dimensions? I'm checking to see if it will fit in the glove box of my UTV. ?

I don't recall buying it because it was for my son - who's behind the wheel of a semi? My husband, on the other hand, thinks it's around 10x12 inches. I hope that this information is useful.

With a professional kit, learn how to plug a tire! This is the most professional-looking kit available
5/5

br>Everything is done in a professional manner. I started by tightening all four Allen screws on both metal T handles with one of the Allen wrenches provided. br>br>I've already used it at least ten times. This is how to use it: br>br>Easy to use: br>br>Step One: Make sure the tire has at least 20 psi of air in it so it can work properly, and then look for the nail, screw, or other object that is leaking, as shown in photo 1. br>br>Second Step: Put some of the provided lube on the tip of the spiral probe saw tool and set it aside before removing the object, as shown in photo 2, so it is ready and you don't lose a lot of air trying to lube it later. The hole is cleaned and widened with this tool. br>br>3rd Step: Remove the screw or object and quickly insert the spiral saw into the hole, pushing it all the way in, and then pull and twist the saw in and out about 4 times without allowing the tool to come all the way out of the tire, stopping and leaving it in the hole so you don't lose much air while preparing the t handle inserting tool as shown in photo 3br>br>Step 4: Pull one of the string plugs halfway through the insert tool's tip until both ends are equal distance away from the tip, then pull both ends down towards the Handle. Then, as shown in photo 4, apply some lube to ensure a smooth and painless insertion. br>br>5th Step: With the T-handle, push the string plug into the hole. Handle the insertion tool until about 1/4" of the sting plug is left, then pull it out with one swift pull, as shown in photo 5. br> "If the plug wants to come out when you pull the tool out, use the round metal part on the insertion tool, but I've never had to use it. " "br>br>Secondary": "br>br>Secondary": "br>b Trim the remaining plug as close to the tire as possible with Diaganal wire cutters, a knife, or a razor blade, as shown in photos 6 and 7. br>br>Photo 8 shows the entire contents of the kit. I like the case because it allows me to organize my belongings.

This is the worst piece of equipment I've ever owned
3/5

This is the worst piece of equipment I've ever owned. The grip is terrible; I finally had to use the kit, and it took me a long time to plug a tire; the handles are slippery and solid, with nothing to grip with. I simply threw the kit away; save yourself the trouble and invest in a high-quality set; this is an emergency item that should not be overlooked. I included images demonstrating how brittle the metal is; it bent!.

FOR THE PRICE, THIS IS EXCELLENT QUALITY
5/5

despite the fact that On the other hand, it is only a fifth of the price. I give this 5 stars because it is a very good set of tire repair (plugging) tools for the price. Sure, there is better quality out there that i rely on as an auto br> I purchased this as part of my travel kit because I am frequently on the road because my two sons both attend schools that are a few hours away from home. It's prudent to have a well-made, solidly constructed tire plug kit on hand that will perform admirably (especially given the price). I use a cigarette lighter compressor that runs on 12 volts. I KNOW I will be able to get back on the road in minutes unless there is a large hole in my tire or sidewall damage. br> I had to use this tool today for a friend who had two nails in his tire, and I had to go to the side of a busy highway because his spare tire carrier had seized, making it impossible for anyone to use the spare. He has D rated (6 ply) tires on his Excursion because he tows a lot with it, and I was impressed with how well the rasp worked to not only penetrate but also effectively ream out the tire tread. The plug-in tool was also as steady as my Snap-on. At my shop, this is a tool that I use on a daily basis. The plugs are visible. The Camel brand plugs, which have been an industry standard for as long as I've been in the field, which is over 30 years, "feel" the same. br> I STRONGLY advise anyone looking to add to their "highway tool kit" for their vehicle(s) to get this kit. The quality is such that I'm confident I won't have to worry about the rasp or insertion tool snapping off, as I've experienced with every other low-cost brand I've tried. I'm not sure how well or how long this would hold up in a professional setting. However, after using it today, I believe it will be adequate for all but the most difficult tire repairs.

The first time I tried to use it, it failed miserably

When I tried to use the tool for the first time, it broke. The quality is extremely poor.

My first attempt at using it resulted in a failure
3/5

I bought it for emergencies, and the first time I needed it, I was glad I had it. br> It worked fine until I tried to use it and the handle snapped. To put it mildly, I'm disappointed.

Identical to the Safety Seal in terms of quality
5/5

I own a small business, and I usually purchase four of these kits per year for all of my field crews. I've always purchased the $49 Safety seal kits because I was impressed with their quality. I've always been hesitant to order the less expensive kits because you usually get what you pay for. This, on the other hand, is a fantastic kit. br>Primary Impression: br>The plastic box isn't quite as sturdy or solid as the Safety Seal Kit (hereinafter referred to as SSK), but I didn't purchase it for the case. The tools themselves appear to be just as sturdy as those made by SSK. (Right now, I'm comparing the two of them. ) In all four Tooluxe kits I purchased, the lubricant is less than half full. On two of the kits I purchased, the grease container was screwed on by a Gorilla. I'm a big guy with popeye arms, so I needed a gripper to keep one end in place. I had no problems with the other two grease containers. I haven't used any of these kits yet, but the tire plugs appear to be the same as those in the SSK. They aren't the cheap black ones found in cheaper kits. Instead of the paper found on the SSK, they come with a clear plastic cover. You will receive exactly what you see in their photograph. It appears to be the same. Overall, it appears that I got a good deal on them, and I apologize if I caused some people in the United States to lose their jobs. However, if the product is as good as those made in the United States but costs a quarter of the price, it's a no-brainer. We must figure out how to produce the same product in the United States. But that's another story.
