This is a great item to have in your vehicle. My son has had at least 12 flat tires in his last two cars, and he just put two plugs in one of them a few days ago. He's had a few tires that have 25,000 miles on them and have never leaked after being plugged. This is a nice set; the needles are a little heavier duty and don't bend as easily as others; I've destroyed quite a few in the past.
I had purchased a kit that was similar to this one, and the two could be confused. This plug kit was considerably less expensive than the one I had previously purchased. I purchased a second one for my other vehicle (a BMW with run flats) in the hopes of extending the run flats' maximum distance of 50 miles in the event of a flat. Run flats won't deteriorate if you keep them airtight, and you'll have a better chance of finding one in a town that sells them. However, I wish you luck. br>I've never plugged a run flat before, but I figured that if a projectile punctures the air cell, the plug applicator tool will puncture as well, and I'll be able to plug. I've replaced the plugs in my Ford F150 three times with Dollar General plugs, but I wanted a better plug kit for a faster repair.
I was looking for something sturdy to throw in my car and came across this one, which came with a hardcase. A guard is also included in the T handle insert in case you push too hard and injure yourself. I'm not sure how good my self-esteem is. Vulcanization plugs, but it seems to be working for me so far; time will tell. There are no flaws in this 5 star rating.
Almost, and it's well-made and sturdy. The only thing I'd bring is a small needle and thread. pliers for the nose. Why? One, to assist in the removal of a nail or other object if the small pry bar included is insufficient. Also, I have a hard time getting the plug through the "eye," so I use pliers to flatten it out and pull it through.
A few set screws were missing from my kit when it arrived. Rather than dealing with the hassle of returning it for a refund, I simply purchased the missing components separately.
It's less expensive than the Slime kit and should last a long time; I usually have to patch four tires a year, both my own and others'. This is far superior to those available at auto parts stores.
I accidentally punctured one of my lawnmower's rear tires, and this kit came with everything I needed to quickly fix the problem. Because the offending item was not stuck in the tire, finding the hole took longer than plugging it. If you're reading this, you're most likely considering purchasing a tire repair kit. If that's the case, this kit is a must-have. In case anything goes wrong:.
Everything you'll need to plug a tire, in excellent condition and at a reasonable price. If you have the physical strength to plug a tire (that's right, you need a certain level of strength to use this tool), it's definitely worth it. It's helpful if you can stand over the plugged area and push down. Just thought you might be interested. I gave it four stars for sturdiness because the plug pin bent slightly while in use, but it did the job otherwise.
