Four people have said they are chrome molybdenum, with one saying he checked his set to confirm this, and one saying vanadium. The description doesn't specify what material the sockets are made of, but I'm guessing molybr>Bondhus developed and uses Protanium® Steel, a proprietary alloy steel. In the hex tool industry, it is the hardest, most ductile, and longest-wearing steel available. br>The most widely used grade in the United States is 8650. It lacks the hardness and ductility of Protanium® Steelbr>âChrome Vanadium is comparable to 8650 in terms of quality. In Europe, it is primarily used. br>âChrome Moly is similar to Chrome Vanadium, but it is a little tougher and stronger. Because it is relatively expensive, manufacturers typically use it only on higher-grade and higher-priced tools, such as ball head products, and substitute lower-grade tools for the rest. The main consumers are Europe and Japan. Only a few manufacturers employ S2. It has a higher hardness than 8650, but it is less ductile, more expensive, and more prone to shattering. br>â1050 carbon steel is a low-alloy carbon steel with a high strength-to-weight ratio. steel of a lower grade than the ones mentioned above Manufacturers in Europe and Asia continue to use it.
These sockets, according to my information, are made in China.
To keep the socket from falling off, some sockets have through holes in the base where the impact wrench ball/pin sits, while others have internal indents. Internal indents are present in these sockets. They work just as well, but only the square hole in the bottom, where the wrench goes, can be seen.
Chrome molybdenum is a metal with a high molybdenum content. This is a nice set of sockets.

I've had my fill of gearwrench tools. In my previous job as an automotive technician, I used gearwrench. Snap on was charging nearly $60 for a 32mm axle nut socket, so I needed to get some. I bought the set brand new, only to discover that it came with two 20mm sockets rather than a 32mm socket. I tried once more to give gearwrench a chance. That is no longer the case. Now I'm going to go out and get some grey pnuematic and sunex. I despise gearwrench box wrenches because they slip at times, rounding bolts. I'll stick with snap-on wrenches instead. However, instead of purchasing this set, you should purchase the Sunex set. Sunex made a good product, so I bought the missing 32mm socket there.
These sockets are well-made and provide nearly all of the sizes you'll require in a small package. These impact sockets work well and will continue to work well for a long time, and they come with a great warranty. The fit and finish aren't as nice as the standard gearwrench impact socket sets, but that helps keep the price down. I would strongly suggest it.
I've done it before with a 36 on a 34, but I don't like it so I bought my own set. I saw reviews where people said they got two of the same sockets, and I got them all right. It's difficult to tell the difference between the 35 and 36.
They get a lot of use and don't show much wear.
I messed up and thought it went from 32 to 40mm, but it's a nice set for the money. Keep an eye on the sizes.
I have a shallow snap-back and this kit is fantastic for the price. on 3/4-inch sockets, and this small kit is just as high-quality as the big-ticket snap-ons.
Someone else needed my old set more than I did, so I got this set. br>Quick shipping by the companybr>Good set for the money.
This was purchased to fix or replace wheel bearings. With the large selection of axle nuts now available, I no longer need to rent the socket required to complete the job.
