Yes, as long as the ball joint is the pressed-in type.

The newcomers slid right in
5/5

On my 2006 Ram 3500 dually, I needed to replace all four ball joints. br>br>I started with the passenger side, renting a ball joint press kit from a nearby store. I had to figure out how to get the old ones out and the new ones in over the course of two (2) days. I simply didn't have enough cups, and I spent more time figuring out how to get them in and out than I did pressing them. br>br>As soon as I finished the first side, I returned the kit. I swore I'd never rent another of their tools, so I bought this right away. br>br>I just pressed out the side joints on my driver's side. It took a little banging to get them to loosen up, but they were the original ball joints with no anti-seize. That's to be expected, as they didn't lock up or anything when they were installed. The newcomers slid right in. It took me about 30 minutes to press in the bottom joint, and I'm about to go back out and do the same for the top joint. br>br>Worth every penny plus a little more. It's a fantastic kit that I couldn't be more pleased with.

Adapters for four-wheel drive. But, before I did, I wanted to double-check that it included everything I'd need to remove and replace the ball joints. The last thing I need is a tool that I expected to work but does not! br>br>I asked the same question to the Amazon group as well as Astro; Will the Astro 7865 Ball Joint Service Tool be adequate for removing and installing ball joints on a 1999 Dodge Dakota SLT 4X4? br>br>Astro's Quick Response: 30- Jan- 2017br>br>Hello Robert,br>br>According to my technician, the 7897 is the kit you'll require. If the problem persists, use a little Mapp Gas to heat the control arm but not the ball joint, and it will easily pop out. br>br>At this point, I have two completely different responses. Astro 7897 Ball Joint Service Tool Kit and Master Adapter Setbr>br>The 7897 Ball Joint Service Tool Kit and Master Adapter Set arrived in a very sturdy plastic box exactly as described, including the color. I was immediately impressed by the quality and finish of several of the pieces when I started inspecting them. The counterfeit C- The frame press alone weighs between 7 and 8 pounds, and if anyone claims to have bent or broken this piece when used for its intended purpose, barring an internal defect, let's just say something isn't quite right. Looking aheadbr>br>It's simple to figure out whether the 7865 Ball Joint Service Tool Kit is adequate for removing and installing ball joints on a 1999 Dodge Dakota SLT 4X4. Measuring the flange diameter of the ball joint will tell me which sleeve will allow the ball joint to fall through when it is removed, and which sleeve will rest against the flange diameter when it is installed. I'll just compare this data to the sleeves included in the 7865 Ball Joint Service Tool Kit and the 7897 Ball Joint Service Tool Kit and Master Adapter Set. br>br>Because I'll be using MOOG parts, I've contacted them and requested the two key diameters on their part; if they don't respond, I'll order the parts from Amazon and measure them myself. br>br>As of the twenty-first century, br>br> Feb- MOOG has yet to respond to our request for information in 2017. Purchase it, but keep in mind that it is a dangerous product
3/5

Although this ball joint press is of good quality, it is lacking in features. It's clear that it's not the OTC master kit or the Snap-on master kit. They could have done better on BJP1, but they didn't. Advantages: br>br> br>The C-axis machining The threads on the press and the forcing screw are silky smooth. That part has made me extremely happy. br>C- The press is made of forged steel and is very heavy. I don't think I'd ever be able to bend this thing unless I was holding my 1200ft. lb. There'll be a torque wrench on there for the rest of my life. br>The adapters are identical to those found in any other kit. They all seem to be copies of the basic OTC kit, in my opinion. Excellent craftsmanship. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>Case is a pain to deal with. Plastic that is very thin. The opening of the press is simply too small (as is the case with the majority of them). It was on a Ford Taurus that I first used it. The included adapters were ineffective, and the opening was too small. br>br>(Astro, if you're reading this, if you've read any of the other comments) If the opening was 2 inches larger and you provided about 4-foot of space, This kit would be the best kit out there at twice the price if it didn't come with 8 different basic pressing tubes (the round pipe-like ones that sit inside one another), but I was disappointed enough that I bought the OTC-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX OTC-6736 and OTC-6736 are two terms that are used interchangeably. 6730 so that I can use these adapters and have a press big enough to fit all the ball joints out there. br>br>Don't buy this kit thinking you'll be able to handle any ball joint repair that comes your way. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I recently installed a ball joint on a 2002 Ford F-150 using one of the adapters. 350 The adapter was too thin (1/16-inch thick) when it was machined. 1/8) where the screw is seated inside, causing the adapter's center to break out. I was able to re-weld it together and use weld bead to reinforce the center. I'm not looking forward to it.

This product is not long-lasting! Upper and lower ball joints on my 2008 Suburban needed to be replaced
3/5

There are four of them. They had to be pressed out AND pressed back in because they were in type, right? On the driver's side, I removed the upper and lower ball joints, and as I was reinstalling the lower ball joint, the threaded portion of the C-pillar broke off. The stripping of the shaped part began. The tool lasted long enough to remove the upper ball joint on the passenger side, but then it completely stripped out. br>br>This tool is incapable of handling the workload it was designed for. It only received two stars because it only worked partially. DO NOT BUY THIS ONE IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DURABLE.

On a 2014 Sierra, this was used to install ball joints
5/5

On my 2014 GMC Sierra, I used the Atro Ball Joint Kit to replace the ball joints. I was unsure about the tool's ability to remove the existing ball joints, so I pounded them out of the control arm. The new ball joints were easily installed using this tool. I made a YouTube video showing how to replace ball joints and how to use this tool. "Sierra" is a good keyword to use. To find the ball joint installation, go to YouTube and search for "Silverado How to Replace Upper and Lower Ball Joints, Tie Rod, Control Arm, Links. " My name is the name of the channel.
