Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this to repair a hole in the base of my barbecue grill?

You probably could, but my patch fell apart after I left a positive review, so I wouldn't buy it again.

Napa $4. Auto zone $5, advanced auto $49, advanced auto $49, advanced auto $49, advanced auto $49, advanced Is this for both of them or just one of them?

Even if there were ten of them, it wouldn't make a difference. It has a range of about 50 miles. Keep your money aside for a real fix.

How big is a roll of toilet paper? Is it possible to use it to cover the entirety of my muffler?

36 inches is the maximum length. br>"Tiger patch Jumbo Muffler" is a good choice. Instead, use "SunplusTrade 100pcs 11.5" Tailpipe Repair Tape" and apply it while the muffler is still hot. 8" Stainless Steel Exhaust Wrap Multi-Purpose You can make as long as you want with these "Purpose Locking Cable Metal Zip Ties" by tying one end to the other. Use a few straps to secure the repair along its entire length. br>While the tape alone won't last more than a week or two, when combined with the straps, my repair lasted four years.

Will this product catch fire if it comes into contact with it?

Depending on how direct you are with your message. But, in general, I've had a positive experience.

Don't make the same mistakes I did
4/5

It's simple and effective. As long as the part of the pipe is straight and there is enough clearance to wrap it, it will fix exhaust leaks. Once you start wrapping the pipe, this stuff gets STICKY and difficult to manipulate, but it's worked for me on a couple of occasions. It's only a temporary fix that lasts a few months, but I've used the wrap several times and haven't had any issues. Every time I wrap the pipe, the leak is fixed, and I forget about it. Only three things to keep in mind When it starts leaking again, it'll be four months later. Instead of having it repaired properly, I just keep wrapping it like a dummy. However, despite my stupidity, this stuff has worked for me. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude.

Heat wrap it to make it bulletproof, and don't be put off by the smell
5/5

To activate the adhesive on the pipe, you should apply it when it is warm to the touch. I let the car cool down for about 30 minutes, until it was warm to the touch but not hot enough to burn my hand. Because this product is made of fiberglass, you should wear rubber gloves to avoid itching. Start wrapping the pipe while it is 50% warm. Once it's on, use a heat gun to further melt the product onto the pipe to form a bond. I used heat wrap on top of the tigerpatch and then secured everything with stainless steel zip ties because the patch kept loosening due to the bends. br>br>Once you've finished that, go for a drive to get the exhaust up to operating temperature. The tigerpatch will give off a burning odor. It's the fiberglass that's heating up. I discovered that when I went on short drives, I could smell it the worst when I parked and got out of the car. I did, however, drive it on the highway to cure the patch completely. Since any stray fibers burned off and the patch hardened, I believe this effectively eliminated the odor. So far, everything has worked out nicely.

It's quite effective
5/5

This was placed beneath a clamp at a leaking butt joint. At first, I tried a paste, but it didn't work. This wrap was fantastic. It was extremely sticky on both sides (like a roof tar patch) and dried quickly. For the past two months, there have been no leaks. Hopefully, this will continue in the future.

It was a complete waste of money and time
3/5

With a healthy dose of skepticism, I went into the process of using this product, only to be disappointed. To put this product, I used an electric wire wheel to prepare the place where the application would take place. I then hosed over this area with a cut soup can, and finally capped it with water afterward after securing the end caps firmly in the duct. ties as a temporary fix for holding the tape wraps in place until they hardened into something solid.

Get two or three
5/5

A weld that broke loose on the exhaust pipe where the protection shield was welded on left me with a silver dollar-sized hole. It took two rolls, pulled tight while wearing latex gloves, to cover the hole. I've used this wrap before and it always breaks through after flooring it on a highway, so this time I'm hoping it lasts until I can get it welded shut. I usually have to patch it once a year, but this time I peeled both sides 3 peal papers total brown outer and each side has clear plastic that needs to be peeled off as well I peeled off 8 inches at a time so I didn't get caught up and stuck and all messy like I did the first 2 attempts with a single roll, so get 2 rolls, i got 3 so I can have one extra for repair next time round This is a procrastination fix until the proper shop weld occurs; I could see smaller than a silver dollar hole being a permanent fix.

Only use for minor, short-term repairs
3/5

I'm not blown away by it. It's not a bad product, but I had high hopes for it. I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out what to do because the instructions were unclear. The opaque backing must first be peeled off. Then you must peel off the clear cellophane from both sides of the tape (which is extremely difficult to begin with but becomes much easier later). Because it's sticky on both sides, wear gloves or you'll end up with a black, sticky residue on your fingers that's difficult to get rid of. It becomes brittle after drying and is not resistant to wear and tear. I'm sure it'll suffice for small, temporary repairs, but it won't hold up for a larger job involving more damage.

If you could turn feces into tape, that would be fantastic

THIS IS THE END! Apart from the title, there isn't much else to say. This is a terrible product. After cleaning the area, I heated it with a heat gun until it was very hot to the touch. After gently heating the tape with the heat gun and carefully shaping it to the area, I let it cool. The vehicle was then started and left to idle for 20 minutes before being left to sit overnight. The next day, when I checked, it had completely disintegrated - prior to even getting behind the wheel of the vehicle Use toilet paper instead of paper towels to save money.

Purchase is not recommended
3/5

We're not sticky because we've run out of the roll. I bought six of these rolls in total, two at a time. The first two rolls were excellent, but I soon realized I needed more to repair cracks in my exhaust, so I purchased two more rolls, which I never used. Once the protective films had been peeled away. The tape was not sticky in the least. I went out and bought two more rolls, hoping it was just bad luck, but these two were not at all sticky. I decided to go with a different brand of exhaust tape in the end.
