Selected User Reviews For Lisle 97102 Black Plastic Creeper

This is an excellent creeper in general As the shop price varies greatly, it's best to compare it to the one on the website It is also important to note that the wheels do not match the picture
4/5

A NEW UPDATE was posted on Below you will find a photo showing the new wheels that the creeper comes with, instead of the older grey wheels. In my opinion, this was a significant drop in wheel quality, but it is still an enjoyable The creeper with the grey wheels is still available on Amazon and most other places as of the time of writing. This version has hard plastic wheels now, but they are black. Having tried foam padded and other types of creepers, I still prefer the hard plastic creepers like this Lisle type. Eventually it was time to buy a new one, and I noticed that Lisle now made the creeper in Black (in addition to the traditional Red, Yellow, and Blue), so I had to have As auto mechanics, we know how important a color like black is to things like this!

Most people are aware of the pros and cons of creepers of this type It does not flop about on the bottom when you move, it does not have metal bars / rails on the sides to let your shirt fall through, and it does not have soft material / padding which might get ripped or torn in rougher conditions. I find it convenient that it is one piece and plastic so it is easy to move and store, and I love that it can be easily picked up by the handle so the headrest does not overturn. This simple and light wall mounting system mounts to any wall easily without requiring any In fairness to the con's, let me state this Plastic might not be as comfortable for some people, and if you are not careful, you can still get your shirt caught in the wheels. Most of the time, I wear an over-sized sweater Often forget to button the one or two bottom buttons on my button-down shirt when working on cars, and I find that out after I shift the creeper around! This happens to me all the time (I hate it). Several things to note that I should mention about my creeper purchase The first thing I noticed was the price 53 dollars. The price is 96 plus 6 dollars. The 99th Specialty & Industrial Company Here is the Amazon link It was Tooltopia who sold it. When I bought this creeper, the price on Tooltopia's website was the same as on Amazon's, but I am not sure if they continue to sell it for the same price as they did when I purchased it. I have had many great shopping experiences with Tooltopia - they have a great selection of tools. It took two days for my creeper to arrive. Interestingly enough, I found this creeper sold for over $100 in some places, so be wary of the price.

Second - I have seen this creeper sell for over $100. We are at the wheel. The urethane wheels on the previous versions of the Lisle creeper I purchased were grey. The creepers shown in this Amazon ad as of the time I wrote this and in most pictures and ads I have seen for Lisle creepers look extremely similar. This creeper is part of a package that includes grey urethane wheels. Therefore, I had already guessed I would receive them. Here's what you need to know With this new creeper, you get a unique wheel design This creeper had a black, hard plastic wheel, not what I expected. When I contacted Lisle, they told me the wheel was being changed as part of a running change of the creeper. In spite of this, all of the pics of the creeper The black wheels that came on it I replaced with grey when I discovered I had some on hand I deducted one star just because of the surprise. Note that they would be able to change the photo if they want to show the black wheels of the car at any time, though. I just wanted to let you know. As a whole, I prefer these types of creepers due to their simplicity, as well as how easy it is to move them and use them. There are many different types of creepers, so your mileage may vary. It has been a pleasure reading this. Thanks for stopping by.

There is no better creeper on the market than this
5/5

My experience as a diesel mechanic goes back many years, and you are on a creaper 90% of the time. I've tested several, and this one is by far the most comfortable and easy to clean, and there are replacement wheels My weight is 240 lbs and I'm a big boy.

The E83-92 is one of the best value for the money
5/5

I've had the same one for 15 years now and can't imagine owning anything else! With a weight of 275 pounds on a good day, I replaced a heavy-duty one from harbor freight that my friend had. The second time I used it the plastic ripped round two of the wheels causing it to be out of the My shop had been working on heavy equipment and trucks all the time, the truck went through it all I held heavy starters, driveline, you name it, but it still works no matter how much it's been burned with welding and torching and it still rolls nicely.

A good mechanical creeper that is well worth the money
5/5

Over the past few decades, Lisle has been designing and making unique, high-quality American products. In many ways they are that 'Jeepers Creepers' were the first product to have the name, just like our current series holds on to the quality lineage of their There is no longer a manufacture of these in the US due to market price constraints. There is a lot of maneuverability and it fits well on the back. I have it set at about 220 and it keeps my carcuss out of harm's way Whenever one uses the molded handles, one gets a great grip. Also, the casters are the usual ring fit ( Pop-Up) It is a (In) type and it can be replaced or upgraded with readily available casters, plus Lisle offers quality standard and large models. It is also easy to replace or repair the head rest as needed, and it is simple and comfortable. This is a great product made by an.

A painted label that has a smeared and gooey appearance
3/5

I may even try it again in a different color if it turns out to be a good item. By smearing the name of the creeper, the bag containing the wheels stained the screen printing on the creeper. I'm fine with the appearance, but the ink does not appear to have cured. It is still gooey and sticky, like it has not been allowed to dry. Since these are "garage shirts", I do not want to deal with the sticky stuff on the backs of the shirts. My car needs a lot of attention, and I want to work on it So, I suppose I will wait for a new one once this one returns. Up to date Added the same item in black to the cart. I have a lovely souvenir now that I have the right kind of lettering which is not smeared or gooey. In case you were wondering, the wheels are made of urethane, and they appear to be sturdy.

This is similar to creepers for tool trucks
5/5

It is used by professional mechanics. There is literally nothing different about the thing they put on Although I'm not a heavy person, the product fits me well because I'm 6'2". There has been no damage to the rollers and the cushions in the head rest are still intact. The unit has been owned for one.

Choosing this option is much better
5/5

I wish I'd had one of these for the last 40 years it worked great. Student with a slow learning curve. There are several times in the other reviews where it is said that the wheels of the creeper are difficult to snap into the body. In case you are so challenged, note that there is a small metal disk at the end of the wheel shaft that rattles around in the In the event that you are trying to push in the wheel and it is not going in, stop pushing, rotate or move the shaft around and then continue pressing. The clip will reposition itself in a way that makes the wheel snap right in. To get the hammer to work, you may need to apply a fair amount of pressure. But don't get a hammer and start hitting By causing it to jostle around while pushing in, it will break. As well as gloves, wear safety goggles. I wish I had thrown away the cardboard and foam rubber many decades ago, but other than that, all is well. Yes, of course. All is well the product is of good quality, the wheels move smoothly, and everything works as it should. Embark on the creep!.

It has been a long time since I changed my oil on my car I used to use nothing, then cardboard sheets, and finally While maybe I saved money and space by doing this, I feel stupid now that I am thinking about it
5/5

A hammer and a screwdriver were used to pop the casters into the body, and they were tapped into place firmly. The blue was the only color I chose over the other colors because of price. I'm always going to be a cheapskates, but at least now I can get it done.
