My needs are met completely by it, I have been using it for six months.
This one beats Tesla's cable holder by far! I own both versions, the one made by Tesla and this one. . . and I cannot say enough how much I love this! I like it better than the Tesla version because it is more sturdier and the handle doesn't stick out like the other one does.
It is highly recommended. My favorite part of the holder is the clip. There is no doubt that it is an attractive and affordable product. I think it is pretty well made, but I would have liked to see the mounting plate a bit more robust. It is possible that someone overtightening the screws could cause the plastic to crack when mounted on a rough surface. Having mounted mine on a rough brick wall, I put a small amount of non-hardening Gorilla glue sealer on the back of the mounting plate to ensure it maintained contact throughout. The structure has now become very rigid and strong. There is a hole through the back that is the right diameter for mounting the device. Therefore, it can apparently be mounted on a standard half inch pipe. My guess is that this will help protect the cable against abrasion against the brick wall over time. The idea will be accompanied by a photo, in case others want the idea as well. Anyhow, the only con is that it could have been a little more robust on the mounting plate, it would be great if it was metal, but I am sure that would have raised the cost. Overall, it appears to be a good value and holds the cord and plug Using common sense and installing it properly should give you many years of service.
Since I charge my Tesla with the OpenEVSE device, I use the J1772 to Tesla adapter all the time. However, the charge end holder on this product is too deep for the J1772 to catch on the internal element. There is no need for special cables as the stock Tesla ones work fine and the unit is well built. However, my use case does not constitute a recommendation for this product.
It's basically a plastic clip). The Tesla charging cable holders have essentially the same design and are made by the same manufacturer. I found that the Seven Sparta one had the best looking logo out of all the ones I looked at. Having a good build quality and everything you need to mount it makes it an excellent choice. As it cost half the price of what an official Tesla "cable organizer" would have cost me, this was a great deal. Also, it looks great! We'll post a picture as soon as possible.
What it promises to do is exactly what it does. I live in a state where I get all four seasons and pretty rough winters, but I'm confident this product will hold up just fine. The charging port has just a simple hook design on it to hold it in place so that's also one thing less that could break. My overall impression is that the product is great, and should last for quite some time.
The box is made of strong, molded plastic, and should be able to withstand the normal rigors of usage. The cable is kept out of the way when I'm not charging my Tesla every evening when I installed the cable. It took me about 5 minutes to install the cable.
