Yes, without a doubt! The 1772 plug is looped over and locked into the holster mounted on the garage wall. The holster can hold both the plug and the coil if it is properly mounted. I've had mine for 18 months and have had no problems with it. To avoid tripping, I also drape a small throw rug over the line leading to the car. This is a wise purchase.
The Tesla charger, on the other hand, requires a different type of plug. Most other plug-ins use the J1772 style. Teslas require an adapter to use a J1772 connector, which is found in EVs such as the Chevy Bolt and Volt, Nissan Leaf, Ford EV, and others.
I tried a 50-foot cable; it's a little crowded, but it works; however, it's 12 awg. It should also work with a thicker, shorter cable.

I bought a couple of these because I don't know how to keep my plug from filling up with schmoo after I take it out of the car. My chargers are outside, and with the snow, ice, and slush that has accumulated, I didn't want the plug to fall in by accident. These are useful for securing the plug to the wall and elevating it out of the way. My only suggestion is to make the angle a little steeper so that the cord is more relaxed on the strain relief, but so far everything has worked out well.
It fits perfectly on the side of my back door handrail post in the carport next to the charger cord, and it's great for keeping small spiders and mud daubers out of the charge connector pin holes so you don't have problems connecting with your car to charge. When not in use, the cable can be looped over the holder to keep it off the carport or garage floor (preventing tripping over it and keeping it clean). br>br>Excellent solution to the problem of "dangling EV charge cords" with excellent, easy-to-follow installation instructions that will result in a very clean and professional looking job when installed.
To keep my 40-foot garden hose in place, I have a garden hose holder. When it rained, I simply hung the plug over the hose holder, allowing water to enter. That was simply not a good idea in my opinion. As a result, I purchased this holder and installed it beneath the hose holder to hold the J1772 connector. Everything stays dry, which is great. Although the plastic appears to be brittle, it has held up admirably over many months, so I guess it isn't.
A well-designed and well-made holster that adds utility to your electric vehicle charger. Despite the slightly higher cost, I found it to be useful; I reasoned that if I saved on the plug installation, as well as over $100 by using the hard-wired instead of the plug-in, I could justify the purchase. If I upgrade to version, I'll be able to spend the extra money on a holster with easy access. br>br>Attach it to your charger and hang it separately. The plug will be oriented perpendicular to the wall in many of the J1772 holster options on the market. This one, on the other hand, takes special care to angle the plug downwards. This accomplishes two goals that I greatly value: Slimmer storage (to the point where I could fit it between two studs) AND less cord fatigue (due to a lower bend angle). In its current configuration, I do not use the cord wrap feature, but I may do so in the future. It should be able to hold at least three people. There are four cord loops total. You can tell it's more difficult to manufacture because it's angled down and has the cord wrap 'hood,' so I appreciate the thoughtful design choice!.
It was simple to set up and functioned admirably. One of the reasons I chose this over the other options was because the holder was nicely sloped down instead of straight (so the handle wouldn't extend into my garage walk way when not in use). The only issue is that the collar that extends to hold the wire is a little short, and it could have been slightly larger for easier wire storage after use. I taped the excess wire that I don't need to unwind to keep it in place!.
It lasted about ten months before it began to crack and fall apart in pieces. Plastic used in injection molds is brittle and of poor quality. When I got home, I'd find that pieces of it had naturally fallen off (no need for blunt force trauma). br>br>However, for a plug holder, it's a fantastic design. It's just that I wish it was made of a more practical material.
This is a fantastic product, and I purchased one for my mother, who was just about to wrap up her charger cable and leave it on the porch. When she goes somewhere with her Nissan Leaf, she loves being able to plug in her charger instead of leaving it on the porch. I got one for my Chevy Volt a few years ago, and it's still going strong. br>br>It only takes a couple of screws to put it together, and the charger handle snaps into place with a satisfying click when you use it. br>br>The top of the case has a small lip that can be used to wrap extra charge cord slack. br>br>I would definitely buy it again if I had a second car charger.
