A cord such as this one does not meet the There are only 30 amps of capacity on this wire that is 10 gauge. For a 50 amp circuit, you would like a cord with a 6 gauge.
It is forbidden to use 10 awg wire on services exceeding 30 amps. This cord is a fire hazard since you can plug it into a 50 amp outlet which will heat up 10 awg wire.
While it is technically true that the wire should be #8, depending on the wire and the operating temperature, the #10 rated ampacity can go up to 30 There should be a safety margin of 35 amps. I highly doubt that your rig will draw more than 30 amps on a single leg/wire, but it is With two air conditioners, a fridge, and a TV, the total load has been measured at approximately 30 amps. It's rare that I use the extension other than when parked at home and even then it's usually only to keep my fridge There is no problem with that. A IR temperature gun was used to check the cord and connections and I did not find anything amiss. Therefore, it appears to work fine, even though it might not be recommended.
NEMA 14 is the rating on my cord I assume it is rated for 50 amps based upon the 50R symbol on the receptacle head. The 14th of November The 50's are now commonly found in RV parks where they also use NEMA TT-style power outlets Apparently the seller did not understand that the 30 plugs (known as the RV 30) were not included in the package?

With this cord, you can use the second air conditioner properly. I love this cord. It works perfectly. Because you have a second air conditioner, you should be able to use the cable with your 50 amp service. You have one 30 amp circuit when you have one air conditioner. The capacity is twice as much. In the case of a big rig with a washer and dryer, this cord may not be suitable, since it may draw more than 30 amps on a circuit or leg. Here's how you can look at it. The receptacle on your home's breaker panel can handle the 20 amps that your table lamp consumes, but you don't need a cord that can handle that much power for the lamp (which draws about 3 amps). The cord should only be able to carry the load required at the time. A great feature of this cord is its ease of use. It'sn't necessary to lift and struggle with the heavy 6 gauge cable anymore. I installed an 18 inch, 50 amp camco pig tail on the trailer and used this 36 foot extension cord. I have only 50 amp service because I have two air conditioners. A single ac unit should be installed on each circuit leg. The loads should be balanced from the RV factory on the two 50-amp circuits. The wire diameter of cords and the current loads are explained in this way.
As described, the product is exactly what I wanted. However, there is no way I believe the cord/wire can handle the electric current of 220v/50amp adequately. It caused two major power surges at my house following which a tv and three wall sockets were damaged. I have had no problems with my RV connection at my house until we moved our RV further out and we used this cord. You should not go cheap when it comes to your purchase.
This would overheat and could be potentially dangerous if you are running two ac units, TVs, refrigerators, and overhead lighting in an RV. In the moment I saw the quality of the cord, I sent it back.
A 50 amp power cord of this quality is a good value for your money. The price is a bit lower than most 25' cords, and the cord is well-constructed and works as expected.
I bought it to use with my temporary power supply. I like it a lot. As the item is intended only for use indoors, I don't understand why it needs to be weatherproof. No shield is added to the cord so it can be used outdoors.
In general, the cord seems fine for the price, but I am concerned that it will overheat if I run two roof ACs as well as tv and kitchen all at the same time. The wire should be #6.
During the last two months, we have seen temperatures range from 25 to 35 Without any problems, I was able to complete the test on 95.
I am thrilled that this extension has finally been granted. The RV is now ready to be pulled out of storage so I can work on all the systems with power. The entire length of the cord was held in a separate holder that I bought from a garage / race car trailer supplier. Happy with the service.
