We are renting an apartment with a 220 volt outlet located in the perfect spot to charge our Tesla Model S, but the outlet is only a 30 amp line with a NEMA 10 plug. The range has 30 outlets. When we were using a 50 amp, NEMA 10 cable, we were achieving 28 miles per hour The number of connections is 50). I have edited. It had been working fine for over a month until today. In its current state, it only makes a scary crackling sound, followed by a restart. There is no longer any charge! It was necessary to order the (much cheaper) adaptor from Conntek right away. My next review will be on that one. To be on the safe side, I always kept the charging voltage at 23 amps. *Edit
It doesn't seem like the adaptor is the cause of this problem. The dryer outlet / Tesla seems to have a finicky connection. Due to what I was told, I changed my rating from 1 star to 5 once I realized the issue was not related to.
