wrench I have works well for hex nuts. I have an old Chevy Cruze that had a round drain plug that was loosen with an allen key, then I removed it with the wrench. A magnet is built into the wrench and the plug will remain on the end. I have a hex plug in my other vehicles that is removed with a wrench after it is broken loose from the drain plug.

Thus, I hoped this would make it easier to change the oil. Despite being flexible, the shaft is rigid enough to meet the demands of the task. Magnets work very well, and the magnets are incredibly strong. Perfectly fine, but there are two things to work on that need a little practice. It is usually made of non-metallic material, and there is a washer on the drain plug as well Material that is magnetic. Thus, it is very easy for the drain plug to slip off, and the catch pan can easily fill up. The washer normally needs to be replaced only rarely, so when this happens, I have to search out the washer in the old oil. You want the drain plug position to remain such that it doesn't get engulfed in the oil when you finish turning the last few turns (when the oil begins to leak). 2. The magnet is very strong, and the drain plug actually becomes part of the magnet when it is The plug will stick to the drain pan if it touches it when it comes out and you will need to tug quite hard to get it free. A washer will fall into the used oil when it slips off the plug. This is the cause of the first problem. Here, you need to wait until the oil flow slows a bit and then you have to pull straight on the plug with your fingers. In the end, I found it to be an amazing tool, but I was looking for a simpler one. Whenever I need a drain valve for oil, I install a Fumoto I won't use this tool much in the future, so I don't think I'll use it much. As long as you practice with this tool, it could be an excellent tool for you in the future if you need a drain plug.
I couldn't get it to attach. However, after just receiving the item, i have to send it back today in new, unused condition as it is not suitable for me. The magnetic drain plug I ordered is also stainless steel, and it will absolutely not work with this pump. made the same test on my motorcycle magnetic plug as well, and it is also The plug will not turn properly without the socket correctly positioned above the head so I thought I would epoxy seal a small magnet on drain plug like a wrench, so it can be pulled by the magnets on the tool. Unlike the product description, I would prefer to see it mention that it is not compatible with stainless steel plugs. Picture attached shows that the tool does not snap on a drain plug and instead wiggles it off through polarity reversal.
I have just started doing my own maintenance on my own car, and I recently changed the oil in my wife's car. Having already used a long 3/8" drive Tekton ratchet (a highly recommended product) to break the oil plug loose, I used this to remove it in its entirety. As a result, I did not get any oil on myself, and the magnet worked as advertised, hanging on to the drain plug so I did not have to look for it in the hot oil. Product of the highest quality!.
In order to avoid getting oil on his hands and forearms, I did not want him to do oil changes until he was more experienced. This tool was not the first tool of its kind I've tried, since I've tried something similar in the past and it didn't work for me. In any case, I gave this a shot. The difference is that this one has a really strong magnet and two arms that grab the bolt from both sides. With those two arms, it is extremely easy to spin the bolt out of the oil pan. This tool has pleasantly surprised me and I am very pleased with it. The oil changes for our cars will be done with it.
Well, one positive thing is that the magnet is very strong and holds the bolt tight. On my oil pan, however, the bolt faces down, as it does on a lot of them. The oil dribbled out of the loose bolt, flowed down the flexible tubing, and over the handle and down my arm as the bolt came loose. My objective was to avoid exactly what I did. As for my second machine, I manually undid the bolt and let it fall into the stainless-steel found the bolt in the waste oil with the strong magnet contained in this tool. The issue has been resolved. In other words, although I found this tool useful, it didn't serve me as I had hoped.
It took me a while to realize that virtually all of the drain plug needs to be removed while using this item. As soon as I had it almost off, the oil had already begun to drip. keep my eyes on the pan at all times to ensure the oil drains into it. Once I removed the drain plug and discovered that the oil was partially blocked by the plug due to the magnetize tool, I realized what had happened. I didn't like the way it turned out. It was not necessary for me to perform the oil change. Would have been easier if it was.
Using it is very easy and it works great. Use the ratchet to loosen the oil pan drain plug until it is just about to pop off. With the ratchet removed, place this tool on the oil drain plug and position the oil pan to catch the oil. Rotate the tool counterclockwise and the oil pan drain plug will come out of the oil pan and stick It's no longer necessary to burn your fingers with oil. There is no longer a drop in the drain pan from drain plugs. It is necessary to have this tool if you change your oil yourself. Although I have not tried it, I suspect it can be used in other situations where a bolt or screw may fall out when you remove it from something. The next time I purchase, I will definitely do so. My son in law and his father received them as gifts from me.
This helps the job go much more smoothly. Before attaching the tool to the drain bolt, be sure it is loose enough. Listening to negative reviews is a waste of time, because these people aren't using the tool correctly. In reality, removing the drain bolt once it is loosened is what it is designed to do, not loosen the bolt itself.
