Questions & Answers

How well does the tool work on a Honda accord 2 from 1997? Is there a second VETEC?

It's hard to tell from the V- This is technology. Neither the 1998 2 nor the 2000 2 worked. There are no non-natives The head of a vtech computer. You will probably not get good results if you have a DOHC head, but you will most likely get good results with a SOHC. There is also a thinner tool available in Lisle's other kit (36050) that can work on DOHC heads.

What is the ability of this tool to operate the Chevy engine 5? This is either 6 or 7. What does 0 liter mean?

It took me about two hours to replace all 16 valve springs on my CTS V w/5 2005. The LS6 engine has a 7 liter displacement. There were only one side of the hood up and one side of the In all honesty, I may have done it faster if I had not been drinking beers while doing the spring swap with a buddy of mine. Pressurizing the cylinder was accomplished using compressed air and an adapter hose for the spark plugs. A WARNING has been issued! Before pressingurizing the cylinder, make sure that the hand brake is set and the wheels are clocked, and if you have a manual transmission, put it in gear. *br> I used a small 5 gallon compressor set at 90 psi to force the air to rotate the engine. There is no need to worry. One of the tools that really makes this job easier is this one. I wish I could be of assistance to

What about Subaru 2? Will this tool work? How many engines are there?

An expanded version of the tool can be viewed here. It cannot fit between the keepers because the nipple on the end is too large. These simply smash against the valve end, which can ruin both of them. The small version can be downloaded here. In my case, the 06 EJ253 SOHC had a standard Subaru 6mm valve stem. While I ground down the nipple to fit, it failed to seat both keepers at once. In order to complete the job, I had to return to a conventional valve spring compressor. Although I like the tool for removing springs, I dislike the tool for installing springs. I love how simple that is.

Do you know anyone who has used this on a Honda/Acura B18c V-twin What is Tec?

Do you know what the answer is?

$30 is a good price for this product
5/5

You can make good use of this product if you are a DIY enthusiast. The second time I attempted to change the valve stem seals on a 1999 Honda Accord LX with a 2. after years of heavy duty mechanic work, this was my first time changing valve stem seals. An engine with a 3L SOHC cylinder head is still in place. Using this tool I was able to get the job done much faster than I would have normally (roughly 3 hours for my first time). However, I also found it challenging to operate. I found it very difficult to remove the keepers, even with the appropriate tool. There's a bit of a learning curve to installing them. Using my hands to push on the tool went easier than hitting it with a hammer during installation, but I still had trouble with the intake valves several times. As my hands were pointed in the direction of the firewall, I could not reach straight down to grab them. Under the cowl, I used a prybar to hold down this tool. Once or twice, I slipped and some keepers took off (luckily, they were found). Likewise, to remove the springs, feed some rope through the spark plug hole and crank over the engine by hand to hold the valves in the head until the springs are removed. In addition. According to the packing, the keepers should be installed in the tool before the installer installs it. The system does not work like that. The keepers must be placed in the keepers on the spring before the springs can be pushed. The tool serves as an overall time and money saver for a generic program. Your chances of success may be better if you use.

This is such a useful worked like a charm for me because it extracted all 16 valves from my Toyota It took 22 minutes to deal with 2 heads
5/5

We stood at the tool and pulled out the keepers for the longest time. The keepers were extracted from the tool with the handle of a small paintbrush. I do not know how things will go with the install yet, but the last time I installed a head was 20 years ago and I borrowed a c clamp type tool. It was a pain to use that tool. As soon as I placed my order, I viewed a YouTube video. It only took me one swift blow to remove each spring retainer with a 2lb dead blow hammer. Pressing down on the spring retainer with the tool held tight, the black extension was pulled off with no problems. Hence why I have not installed them yet, as the lapping compound has not yet arrived. However, I still have a lot of cleaning to do before I can do so. So I put the head back together and I am so impressed with this tool. The keepers only needed to be reinstalled each spring with one whack. At least in my opinion, you should use moderate downward pressure with the tool and then give it a good whack with a dead blow hammer as you keep this downward pressure going. You will see a video I'm about to post on YouTube.

K-motors are too large to fit in the Honda/Acura tool The valve stems are held in series by series keepers
3/5

You may be able to work on Honda/Acura K-series vehicles The installation portion of this tool, in my case a K20A2 engine, is pretty much useless because spring-loaded guides need to be removed before it can be installed It is too difficult to push the keepers onto the valve stem with a fully loaded keeper 'nipple'. The 'nipple,' as I find it more appropriately called at the present, should be a little smaller so it can wedge between the valve stems and push them into the stem instead of cause them to jam onto the valve. There's a good chance that grinding this nipple into a smaller size will Though the tool works flawlessly when removing files, it does not work when deleting items. The quality is good overall, it's a sturdy tool, but if the valve stems and/or keepers you have are on the small side (not a V8, for instance), you might want to look at another model with a smaller installation.

It works for GSR heads, but not for B20s
5/5

I am writing this review in the hope that it will offer some help to My original purpose for buying this product was to change the valve train on an It has been a few months since I purchased the head and I have been playing with it ever since. When using the lock, it fit properly, but sometimes you had to reach all the way to the bottom of the head to hold the valve in place when the keepers were locked. The GSR head was successfully analyzed with this tool. In order for me to be able to put my GSR on, I had my B20's head gasket put on. The valves of the motor are very poorly made. I have learned this from taking the motor apart. This stool DID NOT fit a B20 (CRV) head and I need to remove the valves and valve springs. The width of the tool bottom had to be ground down so that it could fit into the B20 head. Thanks to an angle grinder I was able to do this. In case you plan to use me angled grinder, make sure you hold it with a rag, since the tour will become extremely hot when it's ground up.

A simple way to service your Subaru Head
5/5

In my specialty Subaru shop, I had given up on head service due to the frustration of installing the springs and keepers on the inset valves on overhead cam Subarus. I visited several machine shops in the area to find the adapter, but none of them wanted to do these 6 cylinders, so I went online to look for an adapter for my C-model You can clamp the This tool looked interesting, and the reviews sounded good. That was a totally new one to me! In 15 minutes, I did what I wanted In some cases, each valve took 20 minutes in others, it barely took a minute. The majority of what you do is install the seal, spring seat, and Spring Retainer, then drop in the keepers. A smack with a hammer or pressing hard and fast with the spring-loaded anvil on the valve stem will usually solve the problem. That's it! Although I looked around the shop to see if anyone was around, It was incredibly hard for me to not be impressed by this tool! In order to hold up the valves, I had a piece of memory foam under them. When the head was flat on the bench, the valves were pointed in an upward direction. To ensure the tool was at the same angle I had to make sure it was at the same height. It was allegedly not working for some reviews, but in my opinion, this was due to how they held their mouth. Now that I'm back in the field, I'm ready for.
