Although I were never able to cut PVC pipe with this tool, it would have been better to use a hacksaw or Sawzall instead. When you are working on thin wall steel exhaust pipes, this tool will perform best.
This cut through an exhaust pipe made of steel. There is a difference in the hardness of copper and iron. I believe there will be no problems.

The SS exhaust pipe was almost worthless as it could not be cut through one piece. It's impossible that these blades are made of hardened steel in any way. These would probably work well for PVC pipes, but not exhaust pipes.
