This device has a nice appearance, but does it function properly? I put it to the test, and here's what I found out. My floppy ears are too big for the earphones. They simply aren't able to cover enough of my skin to drown out the noise. As a result, it receives a four-star rating. But keep reading. br>After tossing the earphones in the trash, I whipped out a pair of regular in-ear earbuds and plugged them in. If you've ever used a mechanic's stethoscope and experienced the agony of ear pain, you'll want to get your hands on this baby. With the earbuds in and this microphone thing roaming the interior of a vehicle, there's a pesky little rumble in the back quarter panel. It did an excellent job of putting me on the wheel bearing in just a few seconds of driving. Oh, those subtle noises are a pain, but this seemed to help, even if I was only using half the product; if you aren't using the metal attachment, I would also recommend getting some microphone foam and taping it on. It would assist in filtering out a little more noise.

So, first impressions: it arrived in a nice package, but upon opening and inspecting the device, I discovered that it was already slightly damaged. The dial cover had come loose and had to be replaced. I checked the operation after gluing it back in place. It performs admirably and immediately assisted me in determining a diagnosis that we had been having difficulty determining (a noise in the engine bay). Overall, I would purchase it again and recommend it to professionals.

I purchased these to aid in the diagnosis of a high-pressure oil system leak in my 2005 Ford F-250. They were helpful with the diagnoses, but my set had some issues. I kept them because I only needed them for this one task, and they worked well. The volume was the only issue I had with mine. I could turn them on and the volume adjustment worked fine, then turn them off and go back to using them and almost blow my eardrum out. My neighbors were probably laughing and wondering what the heck was going on with the guy next door! (I couldn't get them off my head fast enough) This only happened a few times before I realized I should turn them on first. This malfunction appeared 50% of the time and I was always able to cycle the power on and off and they would begin to operate as expected.

The device is fantastic! It's what I use to find out where bad bearings and pumps are located. My only gripe is that the headphones are a waste of money! Because the ones provided are so cheap, I had to buy a new set to use.

I would definitely buy from this company again because of the quick shipping and reasonable price. It's a nice little tool to have in your toolbox, but it might be a little too good for what I need. I'm looking for a leak in my car's air conditioning system. I saw a video of someone using this and discovering that the valve stem was leaking. At 11 p. m. , I gave it a shot: It was 30 degrees when I got home tonight, and the crickets and cars on the highway were amplified significantly. When I have more time, I'll play around with it more, but so far it's pretty cool. It is something that I would recommend.

Because of the surface damage and the fact that it was brand new, it received a 3 out of 5 star rating. br>It's a great product!.
