Dorman 86273 Circuit Tester - Light/Sound Hook Probe with Interchangeable Tips

I purchased this to keep in my truck as a professional mechanic. I tried it out a few times before bringing it to work because I liked it better than the snap-on version. I've been using a branded test light for the past 6 years. The light is red, which makes it easier to see in bright sunlight, and the audible beep is something I've never seen before on a supposedly low-cost light. br>br>I haven't used it long enough to say how durable it is, but it's less expensive to buy one of these than to replace the bulb in my snap-on light. br>br>If you require something more, you should not use a test light for the task. This book comes highly recommended.

Normally, I don't get overly enthusiastic about a tester, but this time is different. This is a fantastic tool; when my wife heard it beep while I was testing circuits, she was blown away. When simply having a test light illuminated isn't enough, having an audible beep is invaluable. br>br>The only reason I didn't give it a perfect 5* is because there is no place on the tool to store the additional probes, which would make it perfect, but it is what it is, and that is GREAT.

This is a must-have item for all mechanics and technicians! This is a long lead wire that is very handy. Excellent long-term durability! This thing has survived a million drops and is still going strong! If I lose this one, I'll almost certainly buy another!.

There is no better test light than this! Even if you are not at the source, the beeping can help you determine if power is present.
Ex: In the driver's seat, I tested the starter ignition wire.

I was surprised by how good the quality was. But there's a catch: it's hook-shaped. There's something wrong with the probe. The needle point will then be impossible to completely fix. > 1 star.

The product does what it claims to do, but please do yourself a favor and spend this money on a good digital multimeter.
