In its current form, it was not possible to remove the pulley or refit it. CTA Tool supplies no instructions for removal or refitting of the pulley that come with the kit. The local auto parts store couldn't provide me with the tool I needed. In conjunction with the rental, I removed it with one piece from the kit. As soon as I was ready to install the pulley, I needed to visit the shops again. The 8 x 1 meter I bought was 8 mm wide. The 25 bolt was reinstalled using the spacer in the kit, and washers were used to secure it.
The OTC set (7483A) had been recommended elsewhere, but I found this tool to be significantly cheaper and available sooner. While it is equipped with the necessary parts, it lacks the "H"-shaped teeth for grasping the back side of the water pump pulley. An arc-shaped piece positioned at the front to enable the camshaft to be pulled off by hand. There's a part number for this separately at OTC, but it is fairly expensive.
Alternatively, you can use your local major parts store's tool rental program (free) to get the necessary parts - If you need to pull the steering wheel, you will need to rent one. It's part of the O'Reilly 67011 series. It is also strange that the nut used to pull the pulley onto the camshaft is round on the outside. If this is the case, then you should buy 3/4-inch flanged nuts. Get a 20 nut at the local hardware store in place of the bolt. Use the spacer included with this kit and that nut on the larger threads to install the shaft into the camshaft. When the pulley is threaded into the camshaft, a nut should be tightened and the pulley will slide right.
Besides the special nut for pressing the pully back into place, there was no other nut on the camshaft to hold it. As part of the kit, there is a threaded sleeve (without flats for use with a wrench) that cannot be tightened without a pipe wrench or other sort of This situation led to me doing the following to make this tool usable Discarding the threaded sleeve and replacing it with an American nut with a 40 thread per inch standard diameter. Currently, I have not subjected the tool to any real testing, since I am confident it will work. Oh, and for those who are curious, according to my measurements, the threads on the end of the camshaft are M8 x.
There is a reason the Tool received bad reviews most of the people purchasing the Tool do not have an engineering background, and I believe that's why it received negative reviews. Let me tell you what a retired Master Machinist Engineer has to say. Having a professional welder or machine shop weld on a 1/2 x 20 NFT nut for the driver and then machining this connection for the clean one-piece appearance is the best way to do this. It is a pleasure to be with.
The brackets and bolts from the pully were used along with my puller to remove it. As it turned out, the pulley was not intended for the job, so I had to remove it and place it back onto the motor. Screwing up the bolt on the threaded cylinder until the small end threads came to rest was all that was needed. Because I did not have a nut the same size as the bolt to use as a jam nut, I did like others and installed the pully using the cup piece, a bolt, and washers.
I purchased this tool to obtain the half round piece to remove the water pump pulley without damaging it. If you plan to use this adaptor, you will need to provide your own steering wheel puller Having said that, I knew what I was getting into. there is no hex to grab on to with a wrench on the pulley installer. Instead, it has a forcing nut that fits inside of a collar. Do you need to turn the forcing nut in any particular way? Ultimately, I welded an old lug nut onto the forcing screw to provide me with a way to turn it. In order to put the tool back in the case, the case needs to be modified. Is there anyone who has not tried out the tool?.
It is a semi-structured It is possible to pull the harmonic balancer with a circle adapter, in conjunction with a harmonic balancer. This method is not effective as a re-use method During installation, the tool should be launched. I will at least be able to get things apart in that way, so A star.
Although they stated it is for the Ford Fusion, the piece was missing the t bar needed to make it complete, and the screws were too short to fit the lid in place. Only one piece actually fits my Ford Fusion 2008.
