I am quite satisfied with the tool, thanks for making it available.
The shoe brake tool should work on your vehicle if you have shoe brakes. However, you can find the size of the retention clip that holds the spring in place by contacting your local dealer or auto store. To compare with the tool's specifications, you can use the tool's specs.
Drum brakes of any type should work with this device
A lawsuit against KD Tools claims they've been stalked by their own manufacturing USA and are now making their Gearwrench brand overseas. If you are interested, we do have a couple of options. Thank you, Gary
Selected User Reviews For GEARWRENCH Universal Brake Shoe Retaining Spring Tool - 2774D
I first tried powering onto my Ford Ranger with a KD tool and a gear wrench tool. I used this tool to replace the 9 inch rear brakes. Due to the fact that my brakes are on the small side, which use the large style retention springs, this tool is worthless since the large side is made of much too thick metal, which causes the tool to drag against the In the end, I decided to go with a cheaper tool that was made differently and worked much better as well. Because the tool is designed in such a way that the small end digs into your hand when you push the spring in, it is painful to use. It was supposed to be more economical and take up less space in my toolbox if I bought one tool for two brakes, but I hope to end up tossing that out or never using.
This is the most useful tool I have for drum brakes, however it is the simplest one. It is quicker to get the springs and pins out.
A difficult task is made easier with this program.
I am just sick to my stomach with this beast of a thing! Don't miss out on this!.
Having this tool on hand when you need to replace brake shoes is useful.
It's really great to have this tool.
