The plier type I also purchased as I was replacing the rear brake line on my ‘04 Chevy avalanche with some pre-existing lines NICOP kit must be cut. Since I cut the old line out, I was able to run the NICOP while straightened since it was already at the correct length. My next attempt was to use a line bender but the space was too tight for me so I used a plier type bender instead. I've had great success with them. The pipe benders may not be the greatest solution if you are bending prior to installing them, but I believe they would work just fine. It does not seem to be a problem for them to bend 90 degrees.

Despite its shape, I have no idea what this will bend into. The little tab that holds the 1/4 mild steel brake line in place broke while I was bending it. Snapped right off without a second thought. This is trash.
I have a larger bender I have used for years, but it is not nearly as simple to use as this one. Has made tight bends in close succession even with stainless steel lines up to 3/16" thick, and I am a perfectionist when it comes to Amazing. I love it a lot.
Though the tool is a little awkward to operate, it does what it is intended to do.
I like the way it works.
