This is all that needs to be said. MADE IN CHINA. The Taiwanese China, as opposed to the good China. I could have bought a made in USA version of the same product for the same price. My disappointment is great, and I know this will let me down when I need it most. In small print, the packaging boasts that it is made in China, but states that it is made in San Francisco (which makes it seem that fabrication takes place in San Francisco. ) Clearly, I had better know what I was doing. The reviewers who are less clever may mislead me in an understandable way.
The product is made The pros include There appears to be a powder coating on this. It is true that the coating begins to breakdown when exposed to brake fluid and brake parts cleaner, but that is normal based on some preliminary research on the subject. It appears that there are several types of powder coating (PC), ceramic, moly resin, etc. , that influence It also includes the process of baking or curing There is apparently quite a bit of PC on these hooks, so it will take an awful lot of exposure to remove the color. In an effort to demonstrate this, I repeatedly exposed/soaked an end of one hook to brake parts cleaner, and then rapidly scraped it under intense pressure with a quarter (coin) under 30 seconds. This left some yellow shavings, but the scraping didn't remove Besides being rigid, they have plenty of benefits as well. The cons are I am not sure why the dimensions are There is literally no way to overstate how small these are. In addition, hooks are too small, which is the biggest shortfall. For the hooks to work with as wide an assortment of calipers as possible, the width is critical. There is a very narrow gap between these In contrast to what they advertise as 3 inches, they are actually 1 & 5/8 inches. According to the manufacturer, the overall length of these headphones is 9 inches, however, the actual length is 8 and 3/4 inches. Although the shaft thickness is about 1/64 less than the advertised 1/4, the difference is not much of a problem. This tool worked well for me because the dimensions listed, as well as the picture, were what I was looking for. As a result, I gave it a single star as my experience was far too short. To be on the safe side I've decided to use these for the time being just in case, by some slim chance, I'm wrong and they actually work In the event they surprise me, I will increase the star rating. A brief update It appears that they have not encountered anything yet that they cannot A rating of 4 stars has been assigned instead of 2 stars. An error in dimensional representation caused the star to be lost.
This hook works correctly, however, unlike the advertisement that claims it's powder coated, my set was spray painted which will not withstand the test of use whereas a powder coated hook would not. If brake fluid gets on these and they are left for any period of time the paint will separate. Again, this does not affect its usability, however, it does make it easier to lose owing to its no longer brightly covered state. It was because the color was no longer on the hook that one of my friends ended up with one hook, because it was left hanging on strut spring due to the colour no longer being on it.
My favorite thing about this coating is the yellow. I thought someone said it was It was a job well done, but they did the following What's the deal with a $10 Chinese product? The value of these is probably low, since they are probably $1 at best. You could sell them for $5 and they would be valued at 5 stars. If the price is not acceptable, you can also find other USA made hooks on Amazon for a similar price.
Also, after one use has already peeled Again, that's all I have to say I have no idea what it is, but it's made in China.
During a recent axle swap, I was able to avoid removing the front calipers because there were no holes. In addition to keeping the caliper out of the way, they prevent the brake hose from taking on any stretch, and they save me the time it would take to bleed the brakes if the calipers had to be removed. They are well worth the money and are much better than using wire or a coat hanger to get the job done. In high school Seeing them in bright yellow also helps you keep your eyes on everything under the truck when you're not paying attention to it!.
Having been raised a redneck my entire life, the possibilities are endless with these S-shaped tools Hooks are essential. The construction is excellent, and they are very sturdy. Presently, they are employed in holding my toolbox on top of my backpack. I may not seem like much, but when you think that I carry a flashlight, my notebooks, multiple tools, and a large tool catalog in my backpack, it becomes apparent how versatile they are. The powder coating is not fading or deforming, and the machine is not displaying any signs of fatigue. Although you may only use them to fix your own brakes, they are definitely worth the money.
A great caliper hanger for the brakes. There are hooks. When I use them on the car brake lathe, they are perfect. The tools come in handy whenever I need to remove brake calipers & parts You need to keep it out of the way securely. Designed to keep the caliper out of the way, yet not put excessive strain on the brake hose, they allow you to support the caliper. Most of the time, I will hook to the strut spring, but they will hook on A caliper of any size can be held in them and there is no risk of them falling over They are hard to leave on the car due to their bright yellow color. They are over a year old & I use them everyday Several times since they were first launched I have had no issues with them. When you do brake or suspension work on a regular basis, you need these. As a result, they won't fall off and the caliper won't fall off There is a possibility of damaging your toes or the brake hose. Don't miss out on this & This is an investment that won't let you down. Anyone who has experience with cars or works on them on the weekends should give this a try. The best of luck with your writing - GG.
They have a nice feel to them. really like the bright yellow color, so I cannot miss them and I knew they were sturdy to do the job. It wouldn't hurt if the calipers were a little heavy for large calipers, but they are certainly good enough for 99% of the jobs As of yet, the coating on them seems to be okay, but it will take some time to see if any chipping or peeling occurs. So far, only one vehicle has been fitted with them.
