Questions & Answers

Does the shaft measure the same width all the way around?

If I had to guess, I would say it is about 3/8" or 1/2" wide. Despite its heavy weight, it is very sturdy and well made. There are a lot of tools designed to attach to a slide hammer that will work with it. I have used it several times with different applications and it works fine. Several different types have fitted me and I have purchased a few more.

How do I get a case for this slide hammer?

That's all I have to say. The slide hammer is all you need.

What are the steps to take and would this help remove the CV shaft?

If you need a hydraulic press, you need to connect it to a CV shaft (connection to CV shaft). I'm not sure if it will work for you (cv shaft connection)

In a die shop, I have to pull dowels. 5/8" is what it says on the threaded end 18. So where do you find the cap for the bolt? Or do you have to make it yourself?

If your application calls for one, you'll have to create it or purchase one. As a result, I weld a 5/8" tube The 18 bolt is used with a set of vise grips that allow you to remove pins stuck in them.

I pulled my rear axle bearings like no one's business! The rear end of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado that has over 400,000 miles on it is making some bad noises due to worn out bearings
5/5

In order to get a quote, I called a Chevrolet Dealership in the area to get a quote on how much it would cost to have it rebuilt. They told After that, they said the price would depend on what they found, so I decided to do it myself because it was less than $2400 to buy all the bearings, carrier group, ring and pinion, seals, gear lube, and all the tools I needed. It cost me $10. 00, so I did that. did a great job pulling out my old wheel bearings, and I will use it again in the future. It seems to be made very well, and I will use it for any future projects I might need. It has been a pleasure to have this slide hammer in my collection.

Hard jobs call for hard workers
5/5

Due to the fact that I needed a little more power when pulling off a CV axle to work on the transmission, I bought this. Whenever I slide my weight, I love how effortless it is I can reach the end of the slide bar and grab it in order to align it If you want to add more power to the weight (even though it is only 5 lbs), you can stack some free weights (found in sporting goods stores) behind it.

The program works well
5/5

The tool designed for special needs was my first purchase after struggling for hours to remove my CV axel. My time to get it out with this tool was 30 seconds. This is well worth the effort.

A great way to reach locations that are hard to reach
5/5

In order to change the seals and bearings on my Jeep Wrangler's rear axle, I used this tool. The end of this can be fitted with many different attachments, depending on what the job requires. I felt the weight of the hammer was just right and it worked well (it took me two solid hits to remove my axle's bearings and gaskets). Whenever you are using this tool, wearing gloves will be helpful to prevent the vibrations from being too loud (or to prevent yourself from getting hurt if you make a boneheaded mistake and the weights slide.

This is a Bosch product
3/5

This is a steel rod for example with a weight on top.

I was disappointed that they sent a Bosch part as the quality of other Bosch parts has diminished dramatically. The part was also different from what was shown in the description.

This is an awesome 5lb slide hammer
5/5

This slide hammer is a good deal for the money. As for the threads at the end, they were free of burrs and screwed very easily onto the bearing removal kit I bought. We were satisfied in general!.
