Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this sprayer to apply fluid film to the F150 while it is on the ground, or is it too difficult?

While the vehicle is on the ground, it is entirely possible to undercoat it. In fact, the vast majority of our do-it-yourself projects are done in this manner. Undercoating is something that do-it-yourselfers do to their vehicles. Woolwax will creep and migrate into all of the hard-to-reach places. Simply spray it on as evenly as possible, and the woolwax will find its way to its intended location. If you live in an area where there is a lot of snow and salt, the Woolwax formulation is much better than the Fluid Flim in terms of washability. off and will protect you for a longer period of time.

Is it metal or plastic that the spare bottles are made of?

All of the bottles are made of plastic (made in the United States).

Is this a pressurized pot system, or just a spray gun?

A compressor is required to use the Woolwax® applicator spray gun. Woolwax® undercoating guns don't need a lot of pressure to work. The pressure should be between 70 and 90 psi. When it's cold outside, the extension wands may need a little more force. Even small compressors run at around 125 pounds per square inch. The tank size is more important; if it's too small, you'll be waiting for the compressor to recover all of the time. In general, any compressor with a tank capacity of 3 gallons or more will suffice; if the compressor is capable of spray painting, it will suffice for vehicle undercoating.

Is this a spray gun with a siphon or a spray gun with a pressurized can?

This Woolwax applicator gun is of the siphon type. It runs at a 70-degree Celsius temperature. 90 PSI. The cannister does not have any pressure in it. It does a fantastic job of spraying Woolwax that hasn't been coated.

Do you live in an area where the roads are salted? This is why you should buy it

I used to use 24-inch straws and spray cans of bar and chain oil. They're useful for getting into the frame and into tight spots, but this gun is far superior. Because bulk oil, Fluid Film, or chain can be used, it works faster and saves money. bar oil, which is a lot less expensive. This gun produces a thin coating that is just enough to coat and protect, or you can make it thicker if you prefer. And it's not dripping all over the place when you're down there. Here's how to make it: Get a gallon pail of fluid film, then mix it with chainsaw bar in a jug about 50/50. This is a sticky/tacky chain oil. After that, add some old motor oil, bearing grease, and Lucas oil stabilizer to the mix. Some people make a cream out of paraffin kerosene and mix it in. At 75 psi, I'm firing the gun. There are a few empty bottles included with the gun. One bottle will cover half of a truck with the way this thing sprays. The hoses are ideal for pushing up into frame rails and over shock perches, among other things. The hoses aren't overly flexible, which helps push them up into the frame. The only problem is that they won't go beyond a very gentle curve. If the frame hole is small and the turn cannot be made through it, this method may not work. I wish they would provide a thinner hose, such as 1/4" O. so that you could fit into tighter spaces or holes Spray cans and LONG straws are my go-to solutions for these few trouble spots. The ShopStraw FS250 is a great accessory to go with this gun. This straw can be cut into a 2-foot section and placed on spray cans of Fluid Film or Johnsens bar and chain oil (JON4602 case or 4723 can), or any other inexpensive spray chain/bar oil. All of this is visible in the photo. br>br>Yes, this gun is a hundred dollars, but in the long run, your frame rusting out usually means junking the vehicle or spending a lot of money and time, and a hundred dollars is nothing compared to the cost of preventing your frame and body from rusting out. If you're on the fence, let me save you some time and tell you to just go ahead and buy this gun. Obtain a jug of low-cost Bar Fluid Film, Chain oil, and used oil are all examples of used oil. A set of nice jack stands will also help with the job. Big Red jack stands are my go-to jack stands because they're affordable and DOUBLE-LOCKING. Now go protect your child from rust and road salt.

Stop reading and go out and get it. Have you continued to read? You shouldn't be doing that. This is the only product that can be used to apply Fluid Film NAS (not aerosol spray). I was skeptical (as were others) because I expected the fluid film to be liquid. It's not at all, it's more like a gel. THIS IS BETTER BECAUSE THE APPLIED PRODUCT IS MUCH THICKER (in comparison to aerosol spray cans). This sprayer applied the product PERFECTLY (much to my surprise!). ) Because the flow could be adjusted to your needs and the pattern was very predictable, there was little overspray. For my CX-1000, I used 2 gallons of FF. I'll probably put a gallon and a half in my wife's Malibu, which is a little more than others. The thing is, I live in Buffalo, and it snows here. I'm not sure if you've heard, but it does. So I applied a thick layer, but there were no drips! The included wands allow you to reach areas that are difficult to reach, as well as inside the frame. SO HANDY! br>br>After 5 minutes of use, I went inside to tell my wife how much I appreciate it when people design things correctly. This has been properly engineered and constructed (in Italy rather than China). Simply purchase the item. br>br> Later, you'll be able to thank that random internet guy.

Fluid Film is quite thick, and I had my doubts that I would be able to use it
5/5

I used this spray gun for the first time today. I'm a complete beginner, and this is my first time using any type of undercoating. Before I tried it, I watched a lot of tutorials. On a 2002 Ranger, I installed this. I use a two-gallon compressor with an 80-pound-per-square-inch regulator. I had my doubts about getting a spray like the ones in the tutorials because Fluid Film is quite thick. I was happy to see that the gun worked as well as it did in the videos. I was working with restricted headroom because the Ranger was on ramps. With the tube attachment, the problem of limited headroom was solved, and pointing the gun at difficult-to-reach areas became a non-issue. issue. I finished the job in about 2 hours and used just over half a gallon of Fluid Film. To catch drips and overflow, I laid down plastic on the driveway. spray. It was unnecessary for me to have it. This gun gets a five-star rating from me because it delivered exactly what it promised. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.

It was a little difficult
3/5

I attempted to use this gun with a fluid film that was at room temperature. It wouldn't be able to pass through the system. When I raised the temperature to over 115°F, everything went smoothly. I parked my car in the driveway and put on a decent air respirator. Due to the fact that it is an air-operated vehicle, I had an overabundance of batteries. Spray travel and coat the entire surface of my car with a very thin film, necessitating a thorough hand wash, including extra attention with window cleaner and multiple attempts to remove streaks. My air pressure was somewhere between 60 and 70 mmHg. I used a plastic cup to snoop it out of the 5 gallon container and made a funnel out of the bottom of a plastic water bottle to control the flow into the spray bottles. (This can quickly devolve into a nightmare mess. ) I also kept the filled spray bottles in a bucket of hot water, capped. Because they'll float, you'll need to cap them. I'm not going to go into detail about how I completed the application because the most significant issues were the ones I just mentioned. I was going to have this done at a shop for $130 plus tax, so I decided to do it myself. I recently found a Facebook guy for $80, and if I had known this option was available, I would have taken it. When all is said and done, no one will be able to do the job as well as a capable owner.
