How do these work with PEX pipes?

With the right crimper, you can get pex specific crimps. Most of these are for automotive use (mostly) and are not meant for high pressure like a pex system - There is a price difference between pex clamps and water lines, for example. You may say PEX, but not EX. There is almost no difference in appearance- It is similar in that respect, but that is it.

You do not necessarily need to know everything but if you do wing it, you had better know what you're doing. Don't use a conventional clamp instead of a PEX clamp, as the PEX clamps have been made to very precise sizes and require additional crimping tools that are specifically designed for crimping PEX (although these clamps can also be used with that tool). As a quick and painless method of removing protruding ears, I employ high leverage dikes like B006H8QJB8, B006962F0W, or B00004SBDE.

Is this suitable for hoses that connect to r134a air conditioners?

It is impossible for these clamps to approach the clamping force required for an AC hose being a small light duty clamp.

It works well, and is a good value for the money

These crimp style fittings are used for replacing the fuel lines on my Mercury and Subaru outboard motors. It is a decently constructed product and it crimps on tight and even. They may not be as good as those on the factory shelf, but they are quite good nonetheless! With the amount of clamps and sizes you get for such a low price, there really is no reason to For 6 clamps, I had to pay the boat dealer the same amount I did for the entire set here, and I still had some left over. However, make sure you get a good pair of crimpers otherwise you will be cursing no matter what the quality of the clamps is!.

That is something I don't enjoy doing and you know, it makes no sense at all

I'm okay with it But the markings are not clearly etched into this product and are hard to read. In addition, I don't seem to be able to find individual refills from the supplier for commonly used pieces, so I have to purchase another 70 pieces. An indispensable toolkit. This is something I don't like to do and it also makes no sense.

They work about as expected The screws can either be tightened with a dedicated tool or used with nippers (like B000NPT5W6 or something similar). The perfect tool when you are in a state of desperation, and the nearest auto parts store is too far away since you're now walking, to have in the tool box (and much less expensive than screw clamps).
