What kind of metal is it?

I'm not sure what kind of metal it's made of, but whatever it is, it's strong and long-lasting; I've used it a lot and never had any issues.

When changing the valve core, does this valve core installer keep the AC refrigerant from leaking out?

When you change the refrigerant, it does not prevent the refrigerant from leaking out. That is what keeps the pressure at bay. If you take it out, all of the refrigerant will escape. Which is pretty much illegal everywhere because it's being released into the atmosphere. First, you must recover the refrigerant with the proper recovery machine, after which you can replace the valve cores, vacuum, and recharge.

Does this eliminate the need for you to exhaust your entire system?

Only the Schrader valve can be changed with this. Another method, which costs around $50 and allows you to remove it without having to evacuate the system, is available. It's possible that Autozone will rent it to you.

Is anyone familiar with this fitting a 1 pound propane bottle valve?

It's designed for R-style schrader valves. MVAC air conditioners with a 134a rating. Other than that, I would not recommend it. If needed, the small side can do tire valve stem schrader valves, but it's strictly an AC tool otherwise.

To service high and low AC pressure switch ports, this is a must-have tool

It works on Ford Superduty trucks with both high and low pressure switch ports. Remove the pressure sensors and the valve cores using this tool, assuming there is no charge left in the system. This eliminates some mysterious air conditioning leaks. br>br> br>br>If the core tip breaks off, don't panic; just grab the small 4 way tire tool. You probably only used one side of it to remove tire valve stems (which is the same as one side of this Mastercool remover). Because the sharp point of the 4 way tool has a left-hand thread, screw it in counterclockwise until it's completely inserted, then pull the broken core out. The only thing holding it together is the friction of the bottom core o- ring.

This is an excellent, well-made tool. I was reading reviews of similar tools that had the end tabs broken off. Because I didn't want a cheap tool to break and damage a Schrader valve, I bought this. This tool will also work on my 2006 Jeep Liberty's larger high-flow valve.

br>It has two sizes for the ac shrader valve, one small on one end and the other large on the other, and it is fixed in the middle to get a good grip on it. br>At a very reasonable price, I would strongly suggest the master cool. For 134a, dial (81290).

This was the ideal replacement for a leaking schrader valve on my older truck. It couldn't have gone any more smoothly! The product is well-made and reasonably priced. This 64-year-old saved a lot of money by doing it himself rather than paying an air conditioning technician. For its intended use, this is the ideal tool. After 19 years of service (1998 Jaguar XJ8), a large 10mm high side valve core seized in the port. Needle- Nose pliers couldn't move it, but this tool (held in place with some channel-like material) did. The pliers (lock pliers) easily popped it out.

There's not a whole lot to say about this valve core remover and installer. When I was working on my car's ac, I purchased it. It did what it was supposed to do and was inexpensive.

Fits JRA/EATON large bore valves, as well as standard ones. br>Fit my application (WJ Jeep) perfectly, and Mastercool gets bonus points for making or assembling this in the United States, according to the packaging.
