Questions & Answers

What kind of guarantee do you have?

A one-year warranty is included. Please see http://www. kozyvacu. For more information, visit the website www.com

What is required to operate an R12 air conditioning system?

This can be used with either r12 or r134a.

If I run this pump for a few hours while pulling a vacuum and keeping it running, will it overheat, wear out, or leak oil into the vacuum?

The first time I used it, it overheated after only 5 minutes, leaking oil from the vacuum port and producing a lot of smoke. Because you put the oil in the exhaust, the oil it brings is also susceptible to contamination. As a result, it is constantly exposed to the environment, and the second time I used it, there was no longer any vacuum. This item is completely useless.

What type of vacuum oil does this pump require?

You'll need vacuum pump oil, not engine oil, which you can find on Amazon.

Selected User Reviews For Kozyvacu Single-Stage Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump for HVAC/Auto AC Refrigerant Recharging, EPoxy Resin or Wine Degassing, Laboratory, Medical or Milking (TA350)

It's adequate but not outstanding
4/5

So, for the price, it's a great little pump. This pump hasn't spilt any oil and is remarkably quiet. You'd think it'd sound like a decent-sized air compressor, but it doesn't. It sounds more like a large fish tank pump. I added the brass fitting as a quick connect. The oil is poured into the red cap. I'm deducting a star because it doesn't have as much pull as it claims. It would only pull to - the first few times I tried it. 26hg. After a few uses, the vacuum gradually increased to -. 28hg, but it's not going to hit - I'll see if I can get it down to - without using the quick connect. br>br>If my review was helpful, please click that button!.

This was a fantastic machine, and the pump performed admirably
5/5

It produced 29 horsepower on calibrated manifold gauges. 8 psi. From three feet away, you can't hear it run. So far, I've done three cars with it and have run it for over five hours without it shutting down or overheating in any of them. Maybe the difference between my method and that of others is that I don't use the vacuum oil that comes with it. I learned that the best quality oil available is required, and I purchase the best that I believe is available. I'm not sure if you can mention brand oil names on this site because Amazon doesn't allow it, but for the money, it's hard to beat. The instructions state that there is a filler plug to insert the oil, but all you have to do is unscrew the red cap from the top and insert the oil. The directions are unclear as to how high the oil should be placed. I fill it to the bottom line and run it for 5 minutes, then fill it halfway between the bottom line and the top line, and it never used any oil while I was working on the three cars. I'm going to replace the oil right now. It never got hot enough for me to put my hand on it. This is a fantastic machine.

I purchased this vacuum pump to stabilize wood turning blanks and degas wine
5/5

The pump arrived before my vacuum pot, so I decided to set it up for degassing wine. My one and only criticism of the unit is the two fittings for attaching a vacuum line: a 1/4" Flare and 1/2" Acme. These are ideal for refrigeration, but they can be difficult to work with if you're a woodworker. I wanted to end up with a hose nipple fitting that was 3/8" in diameter. After a few trips to hardware stores and purchasing the incorrect fittings, I became frustrated and removed the fitting from the pump, taking it to the store, handing it to the clerk, and explaining what I needed. The clerk came up with a variety of fittings that, when combined, would achieve my goal after a lot of digging. When I removed the fitting from the pump, the thread sealant was one of the first things I noticed. The sealant was hard like glue, rather than the typical semi-soft pipe putty. I used Teflon tape to reinstall the pump's fitting. I set up my degassing apparatus and turned it on. A maximum vacuum of about 25 Hg was measured by the vacuum gauge. It's fine for wine, but it's not the best choice for wood stabilization. My vacuum pot arrived the following day. br>br> It included all of the necessary fittings as well as a vacuum gauge. All that was required was for the vacuum line to be connected directly to the pump's 1/4" flare fitting. There is no need for an adaptor. After changing the pump oil, I fired up the vacuum pot and watched as it reached a maximum vacuum of around 27 Hg. It's adequate, but not outstanding. I put a few drops of oil around the pump's fitting where it screws into the pump body just to see what would happen. The oil had vanished in a matter of minutes. Before moving on to the next batch of wood, I took out the fitting, cleaned the threads with a pick and wire brush, and reinstalled it with 5 minute epoxy as thread sealant. The pump pulled a 29 Hg vacuum the next time I turned it on, and it eventually went higher than 29. 5 Hg. That's about as close to a vacuum as you can get at my elevation of 825 feet above sea level. br>br>I'm on my fifth batch of wood and haven't changed the pump oil yet. It continues to create a near-perfect vacuum. When the pump is running, an oil mist comes out of the exhaust port, which I would avoid breathing. Rather than wearing a filter mask, I simply take the pump outside, where the good news is that once the pump reaches maximum vacuum (and there are no significant vacuum leaks), the mist almost completely disappears. In the winter, I keep the vacuum pot inside and run the power cord and vacuum line to the pump outside through the garage door, which keeps the pump cool. After a couple of hours or more of running in 50-degree weather, the pump becomes quite warm. It wasn't scorching hot, but it was uncomfortably warm (which is to be expected). br>br>Overall, I'm very happy with this pump, particularly for the price.

I bought the pump to pull a vacuum on my car's air conditioning system as part of a r22 to r134a conversion
4/5

When you've finished with the o- After replacing the rings, I connected the pump to the gauge set and turned it on. It managed to pull close to 30 Hg, making it a very capable pump for the price. br>The pump does not run hot or make a lot of noise. br>br>The only improvement I would recommend is adding a check valve to the suction ports. I had disconnected the hose from the pump port before turning off the pump, and some of the pump's oil had been sucked into the hose. If there is a power outage while the pump is running, the oil will be drawn into the vacuum system, which is not a good thing. Simply ensure that the hoses are disconnected from the pump while it is still running.
