Questions & Answers

Where does power come from?

115 volts AC is the standard voltage.

Is there a bleed valve on this manifold gauge so that the air that gets mixed in with the refrigerant when you tap a can of refrigerant can be bled out?

The gauges should be taken out first and last. Remove the air from your system and increase the flash point of the 134a by sucking it out. Because it contains moisture, you should never mix this with atmospheric air. As a result, your filter dryer will be unplugged.

This item appears to be in stock, but my order has been placed on backorder?

It is currently in stock; however, the reason for the backorder is unknown.

Is it possible to reclaim refrigerants using this method?

To do so, you'll need a reclaiming machine, but you'll also need gauges to keep track of the refrigerant level as it's removed from the system.

I vacuumed and recharged my 2004 Toyota Prius the other day, and it worked, but not without issues
3/5

It had a leak in the low pressure line, which I had to replace before I could start. br>br>The vacuum worked flawlessly, but the couplers for the manifold gauge are a disaster. When I first set up everything to vacuum and recharge, I had a lot of trouble with the low side coupler. The high side was fine the first time. br>br>A few hours after the job was completed, I returned to my car to check the pressure. I was having trouble with both couplers once again. When I scraped my thumb against a part of my car while trying to get one of the couplers to work, I got a cut. Even just putting one coupler on took more than 20 minutes. br>br>The A/C is still operational, indicating that the gauge set/vacuum kit did its job. However, I intend to order new couplers. I'm not going to use those again.

There are some components that are missing
3/5

Pump does not work for more than 2 minutes due to poor quality control, and the high pressure gauge reads incorrectly. I patiently awaited this to complete a car repair. I couldn't wait to get it out of the box and put it to use. Unfortunately, the company only included two low-pressure quick-connect fittings and left out the high-pressure quick-connect fitting. As a result, I'm unable to do my job. I'm out of time, so I'll have to wait for a replacement. When I called the company, I was told that I would receive a confirmation email, which I have yet to receive. I ended up buying a 13-pack of quick disconnect connectors. Amazon is selling it for 99 dollars. br>br>Update / I received a replacement from the company. br>br> That was nice, but I had to go out and buy the rest to finish the job. After only 2 minutes of use, the vacuum pump became stuck and refused to turn on. The company requested that I return the old one and replace it with a new one. Sorry, but that won't work; I purchased this unit specifically to use it. You must send me the parts that aren't functioning properly, and I will return the old one to you. Even if it only works occasionally, I need to have it with me at all times. I haven't returned my old set, and I'm afraid I've just thrown money away. br>br>My advice is to avoid doing business with them. Purchase a yellow jacket gauge manifold set and a reputable vacuum pump. You get what you pay for, and in my case, it was money well spent. This product has not made me happy in the least. They had an opportunity to convert me, but they squandered it. I also failed to mention that one of my gauges is reading exactly 100 psi lower than a reputable gauge. Very let down.

The Pump performed admirably, but the Manifold was rendered useless
3/5

In order to evacuate and recharge my 2008 Volkswagen, I took a risk with this kit. I was able to create a vacuum of about 25-percent of the time. The pressure was 30 inHg, but the leak was slow. I started looking for a leak in the vehicle's system, assuming it was a newly installed compressor or expansion valve. The leak was in the high-pressure quick-connect coupler that came with the kit, to cut a long story short. Furthermore, the r-symbol has a r-symbol that Under pressure, the 134a can adapter leaks around the valve stem's fitting (indicating that the can and hose connections were properly tightened). ) I discovered this the hard way, after the refrigerant can had been tapped. br>br>Do yourself a favor and go to Harbor Freight or a similar store to get the equipment. They have parts of surprising higher quality for a lower price.

Has been used in a dozen different ways so far
4/5

I've used it a dozen times in my RV, vehicles, and freezers, among other things. It works well, but it takes some time to get the fittings to seal; once they do, you're good to go. I usually have to tighten them at the start of each job, and I'm aware of some good gauges that don't have this issue. Those gauges, however, are more expensive than the whole kit. As a result, I'm quite pleased. I eventually upgraded from a three-way to a four-way manifold. So either a return setup or a can in the loop with a high low pump to maintain full suction when adding refrigerant are options. This is something I would strongly recommend. I intend to use it in the future as a vacuum chamber for silicone molds, and I am confident that it will work. Overall, I'd say I've run the compressor for about 24 hours.

On a shoestring budget, DIY Great for a DIY project, but not for commercial or professional use
4/5

What you pay for is exactly what you get. It accomplishes what it sets out to do. It is not completely trustworthy. Used twice and had to replace the high side pressure quick connect port because it began to leak. The plastic gasket washers on the hose end fittings will also begin to leak, so Teflon tape should be used to help seal the deal. There are no issues with the pump or gauges. It's certainly less expensive than going to a dealer, but performing a full air conditioning service correctly can take a long time. Overall happy, but don't expect the AC service machine package to hold its own vacuum and be accurate once it's all set up; on the contrary, if you want to learn how to service AC and save money, this machine will allow you to do so.

At home, I was able to clean and recharge my air conditioner
5/5

This is a basic kit, but it includes everything you'll need to vacuum and recharge your car's air conditioning system at home. Because I had been repairing my system and it had been exposed to the elements for a long time, I needed to remove all of the moisture and air from the lines before recharging it with r-134a. 134a. I created a vacuum in my system using the supplied high and low pressure lines and attachments, then left the pump running overnight. Before starting the pump, make sure it's full of the supplied oil. After turning off the pump, I could use the provided manifold gauge to double-check that the vacuum was still holding on my system by letting it sit for an hour or two and checking that the vacuum pressure readings on both dials hadn't changed. After that, I disconnected the pump and used the can attachment to pierce and refill my system with coolant that I had bought separately. It was all very simple, and this kit allowed me to do it myself rather than paying hundreds of dollars at a store. Simply watch a couple of youtube videos to learn how to do this at home.
