Questions & Answers
Yes, you can connect a 1/2" acme to a 1/4" male flare pipe fitting on many pumps, but you won't be able to pull a vacuum through it because the R134a manifold hose sets are supposed to have a schrader valve on the yellow hose. If this is the case, a different method of actuating the schrader valve will be required. br>A couple of other types of manifold hose sets have been reported. A schrader valve (a rubber nub with a hole in it) is actuated by an opener on one type. Another has a connector that allows it to be directly connected to an R134a can that is larger than 1/4". It will only work with an open end or a hole in the rubber. If your manifold set doesn't have an open end (or a rubber nub to open a schrader valve), you'll need to get a new adapter to pull vacuum. My set included a 1/2" acme female to 1/2" acme male (with a schrader valve) adapter, which is required for vacuum to work.
Male is 1/2" acme, while female is 7/16"X20. The female is a standard R12 gauge fitting, while the male is a new R-style fitting. Fitting for a 134A type tyoe gauge. If you have a pump with an old-style gauge set, this will convert it to a new-style gauge set with quick connect port fittings. I hope this explanation is clear and useful.

You should be able to simply swap out the adapter, and the hoses should fit perfectly.
The vacuum pump and the gauges are connected by this adapter. I believe you will require an R134a conversion kit for your vehicle. Over the r12 ports, there are two adapters with caps that screw on. They cost around $10 per kit at most auto parts stores. They're available on Amazon, too.

This adapter was purchased to connect my Mastercool 84772 manifold set's female ACME thread on the yellow hose to my vacuum pump's male 1/4" flare fitting. Nobody has mentioned the fact that this FJC adapter lacks an insert. It's simply a straight through fitting with a hollow interior. The yellow hose female ACME fitting on most new R134a manifold hoses, including the Mastercool set I bought, has a Schrader check valve. In order for the yellow hose to flow vacuum or refrigerant, this check valve must be engaged. After you disconnect the yellow hose, this check valve will keep refrigerant from leaking into the environment. This check valve was not activated or engaged by the FJC 6014 adapter that I received. So I couldn't pressurize my system with nitrogen for a leak test or apply vacuum with my vacuum pump because there was no flow across the hose. I attempted to remove the check valve from my yellow hose set but was unsuccessful. I ended up using a small hex nut to pop the check valve stem on my yellow hose with this FJC adaptor. Everything is now in working order. I believe Mastercool sells a similar adaptor with the insert that will work with Schrader type yellow hoses as well as hoses without the check valve.
I think it's ridiculous that this company sells a vacuum pump and includes the instruction manual (which is nice), but the instructions say to fill the oil tank with the oil provided. Run it for a predetermined amount of time, then drain the oil and re-fill the vacuum pump. The issue is that they only give you enough oil to fill the vacuum pump once, but not enough to refill it after you've used it. As directed, you flushed the vacuum pump. br>How many people do you know who could go to a local store and purchase the proper vacuum oil? Even in the directions on the back page, it says to buy JB industries black gold vacuum oil and that you can find it in your local store (which is funny) or order it from Amazon (which is more likely the case), but why would you provide enough oil to the consumer to get the machine up and running and flushed out as directed but not enough additional oil so you could use it for your intended purpose, which was the reason for purchasing it in the first place? br>I believe it is up to Amazon to compel this company to provide enough vacuum pump oil so that you can fill it up, run it, flush it, and refill it according to the directions, and then get right to work on the project for which you purchased the item with your hard-earned money! Otherwise, it's a complete waste of money to purchase something and then discover you can't use it right away!.
The fit is perfect. In terms of quality, time will tell.
It's of good quality and does the job. If you're buying the same vacuum pump as the pictures show (Zeny 1 Stage Model: ), make sure you get one. VP 125), you'll need it to connect your R-box to your computer. To service the air conditioning in your car, you'll need a 134 hose. Don't waste your time looking for this adapter at your local hardware store, such as Home Depot or Lowes; they don't have any.
I spent a lot of money on a high-quality camera. end vacuum pump, which turns out to be primarily used in commercial and residential air conditioning systems As a result, the connections would not connect to the r134a hose used in automobiles. I contacted the pump's manufacturer, but they had no answers. br>I was about to return the pump because the listing stated that it could be used in all ac applications, but then I discovered this adapter, and the pump is now perfect for automotive and other applications. br>With this pump and a micron gauge, you'll be able to service your car or truck, among other things.
I looked everywhere for this part, which is a high-quality brass part with an o-ring. Because there is a ring inside, it should only be tightened by hand. It's called an "R134a Vacuum Pump Adapter" on the package. It can also be used to connect the yellow hose in your R134a gauge set to the outlet of a Nitrogen tank regulator. To check for leaks, you'd pressurize your car's air conditioning system with nitrogen. WARNING: Never exceed 150 PSI nitrogen pressure for this application!.
This, along with the R410a to 1/4" adapter, is what you'll need to vacuum down the line set if you're installing a new Mini Split unit and are using the older FJC R134a automotive vacuum/pressure gage set. I looked all over the area for something suitable, but the only place I could find it was on Amazon. com. This fitting could be considered the "final solution" to my installation woes, because once it arrived, all of my installation issues were resolved. My new Mini Split is now up and running perfectly, and we are very pleased with the results. FJC and Amazon, please accept my heartfelt gratitude.
This part's Acme threading is incorrect, and none of the two that I received fit my R134a hoses, whereas my J Every hose I have fits perfectly with J brand 1/4fx1/2a adapters, and every hose I have fits perfectly with R134a equipment, so I know it's just these shoddy adapters. br>br>In addition, these adapters lack a Schrader valve, so be prepared to pollute the environment once you start disconnecting things.
