Questions & Answers

Does the manufacturer sell the seals separately when they become faulty?

On Tuesdays only

I'd like to fill the yellow hose with refrigerant, but the back holes opposite each hose are open. Is it appropriate to close these? Which of these are they?

They shouldn't be out in the open. When the hose is not in use, they are used to secure the opposite end. When you do this, dirt and debris are kept out of the hoses. Check to see if they only open a small amount of the way and not all the way.

Is this set of gauges compatible with R410A?

It's possible if you find the right fittings. R12 and R134a are the ones that come with it.

Is the lack of knobs on the connectors (which are used to open the schrader valves) affecting the tool's usability?

No, once you connect it to the high and low side ports, it automatically opens those Schrader valves. All you have to do now is control the opening and closing with the knob on the manifold.

Sorting through the reviews for this item to see what's true and what's not
4/5

This has left me with a lot of conflicting emotions. I read every single one of the reviews, and they're all fantastic. over- the- They aren't very helpful in this situation. I'll try to lay everything out for you right now. Others have mentioned the first point, but it hasn't been adequately explained, so I'll see what I can do: There are three types of hoses: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b The high and low pressure sides of the system are represented by red and blue, respectively, while the vacuum pump and refrigerant tap/valve are represented by yellow. The R-hose is threaded on the yellow hose. 12 systems (uncommon in the United States) no longer and R- It's almost impossible to get 12). Since around 1993 or so, the U. S. has been a member of the Organization of American States (OAS R- has been applied to automobiles. 134A refrigerant is a type of refrigerant that is used in air conditioning systems This means that the yellow hose will almost certainly not fit on the tap/valve you purchased to use with your R-cans. 134A. It is dependent on the vacuum pump whether or not it will connect. There are two types of threaded connections available on some of them: one that can be used with either type of hose Some people only have one. You'll need to check the pump to see if an adapter is required. br>br>Amazon lists three additional parts that are frequently purchased in conjunction with these gauges. I've included a photo of them so you can see what they look like. - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br The first one should be the R-adapter you'll need. The yellow hose was compatible with a 134A tap/valve. Because mine has not yet arrived, I say "should," but if it does not work, I will change it. - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br The second is a vacuum pump adapter that is incorrectly adapted to the yellow hose by the pump. I'm not sure why this is so popular. I bought one, but it didn't fulfill my requirements. Just make sure your vacuum pump has both sizes of fittings (look for two caps on a brass fitting-- (See the photos I'm uploading. ) The FJC 6015 R134A Refrigerant Tank Adapter is probably what you need if your pump only has acme threads and you need an adapter. The FJC 6014 isn't one of them. - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br The R-type is the third. Tap/valve for 134A current. If you're using R-32 in small cans (rather than bulk), This is the 134A refrigerant you're looking for- The yellow hose on these gauge sets, however, will require an adapter. br>br>Quick-fix br>br>Quick-fix br>br>Quick problems to be connected: I wasn't in possession of any at the time. My quick connects worked well and were easy to install. br>br>Gauges and valves: Those aren't an issue. either. I have a feeling they aren't rocket scientists. They aren't exactly scientifically correct, but they're close enough for an air conditioning system in a car. br>br>In summary, I would have given this a five-star rating if it had included an adapter to connect the R-type to the R-type. The yellow hose is connected to a 134A tap/valve. Make sure you order everything you require (and nothing you don't).

There's a reason it's so low in price
3/5

What you pay for is exactly what you get. The low side gauge had remained at 20 PSI for the past two months. br>Recently updated- I received an email from the seller with instructions on how to re-purchase the item. zero the gauge, which has returned the needle to its original position. I haven't applied any pressure to see if it will read incorrectly once more. In the email, I was told that if I didn't change my review, he would be fired. That was intriguing to me. br>Dear Sir or Madam - ,br>br>I apologize for bothering you. br>br>For the issue "The low side gauge is stuck at 20 PSI," simply open the low side gauge and adjust the position with the flat screwdrivers as shown in the diagram. br>br>The low side gauge will be operational again. I'm a brand-new employee. br>br> br>br>Your assessment of my work was unfavorable. br>br>Could you please assist me in having your review removed? br>br>I'll fire you if you don't take down your negative review. br>br>I know you're a good buyer, and I'm confident you'll assist me in getting rid of it. br>br>Many thanks for your help and for being so understanding. awaiting your response. br>br> br>br>To you, we send our warmest greetings.

Hopefully, you'll be able to get a better set than I was able to get
3/5

To be honest, I'm not sure why I bought this set in the first place. For my price point I had to choose between these gauges and going to harbor freight and using a 20% off to get these for around the same price . I wish I had% br>br>These will HOPEFULLY get the job done for you; the problem with mine is that the quick release on the high pressure side does not engage/disengage nicely, so I probably dump about 1oz of freon each time I try to attach or detached these lines. Another issue I have is that the entire system only has two valves to open and close. Get a set with a hose (or at least purge lines) on the center yellow hose and, ideally, one on each of the quick releases for the valves to save yourself some headaches. br>br>I sent an email to amazon asking for a replacement valve for the high pressure side, but they instead refunded me $10, which was VERY nice of them (hence why 3 starts vs 1 or 2), but there is no place I can buy the high pressure side valve for $10, so these things are useless to me.

It was a waste of money
3/5

This was an absolute nightmare for me. I'd like to say it's all the fault of the manifold, but I'm sure there's some user error involved as well. However, I attempted to use this for a week. I was never able to get it to fit properly enough to get the vacuum I required. I did some research and it appears that this is more suited to something other than a car air conditioner. I ended up buying another one from somewhere else, and most likely overpaid for it, but when I got it home, it worked perfectly right away. So I'm sure I made a mistake when trying to use this, but given how well the other worked, I doubt it. I was going to return it, but I didn't think I could because it had been used and was filthy. I now have two manifolds that I only used once for a single job.

The gauges and valves are in good working order
4/5

There were two major letdowns: (1) . The gauges and valves are in good working order. There were two major letdowns: (1) There is no adapter for connecting to a 14 oz R134a can tap; Threads are incompatible with each other. [This could be a problem with the can tap, which isn't included in this kit. ] (2) The high-pressure (red) connector would not fully seat in the car's port, indicating a minor but significant manufacturing flaw. I fixed the issue by purchasing a new set of connectors - Connectors with valves that allowed you to connect to the car's A/C service port while the port valve was closed.
