Questions & Answers

Where can I get another alarm if one remote can control a lot of them?

We regret that we are unable to provide alarms alone at this time.

Will it go off if someone continues to move my side mirrors?

The alarm is quite sensitive, so whether it goes off if someone moves your side mirror depends on where you put it and how strong their movement is. I stowed mine in the driver's door's side pocket. If the rear hatch door is opened or the front door latches are rattled, it will sound an alarm. It was well worth the money, and I'd buy it again right away.

Is it capable of withstanding water?

No, but you could place the alarm in a plastic bag before putting it in place. It is sufficiently audible.

Is it effective if it's attached to a car door and someone opens it?

Sensitivity is terrible! It will not alarm if someone opens your door, enters, and closes it. It will work if they enter and slam the door shut. For it to work, it must be within 3 feet! I'm sure of it because I've done it myself! Junk! I'll say that the remote works well [within about 6 feet] and that the alarm is very loud!

Important information on sensitivity adjustment can be found here
4/5

I compared it to the popular round window/glass alarm and found it to be very similar, with the exception that it can be armed remotely. To further reduce sensitivity, double up on the double sided tape to absorb the impact and thus help reduce sensitivity. Aside from the remote and angle sensor, there is one other distinction to note. This alarm has two stages of operation (warning and full). The alarm will sound for 3 seconds before being turned off. The alarm will continue to monitor, and if the device is bumped again within 10 seconds, the second stage will be activated, and the alarm will sound for 30 seconds. The alarm, like any other alarm in this category, will reset itself after 30 seconds. Siren has a similar volume to the others. br>br>This handy little alarm is well worth the money. Although the plastic has a cheap feel to it, it is sufficient for my needs. It's on my garage door right now. The lack of raised plastic to grip with your thumb makes it difficult to open the battery door, but this can be easily solved with something flat like a flat head screw driver. The battery life is unknown at this time, but after an hour of tinkering with the alarm, the battery had dropped from 1. 56 to 1. 54 volts. Also, batteries (2 AAA) are much easier to come by than the more difficult-to-find button batteries required by other devices. br>br>I'm thinking about getting the water-resistant version to use on my fence gate. Maybe the seller will send one to me as a thank you for this wonderful review (wink ;) ) I hope this information is useful to anyone who is interested in purchasing this item. br>br>The included instructions are a little difficult to follow, but if you can read a few lines, it's not too difficult. This alarm is easy to use, similar to a standard key fob. Understanding how it works and the mechanics of the sensor is what determines the product's success; the only thing you need to adjust is the sensitivity, and this information is not included in the generalized included instruction. However, it is preferable to consult the instructions in the information block or the questions and answers section. When it comes to sensitivity settings, it's a little deceptive or insufficient. br>br>Enter and adjust the sensitivity according to the instructions. Really, it's not that difficult. Hold the off button for approximately 6 seconds with the alarm turned off, though you don't have to count. Simply wait for the blue led on the remote to turn on, then turn it off for a second or two before turning it back on. At this point, you can release the off button and adjust and cycle through the ten sensitivity levels by pressing the doorbell button (bottom button with a bell picture). Each level will be confirmed by a beep. A long beep corresponds to the most sensitive setting. A short beep confirms each of the remaining levels. This is where things start to get a little muddled. br>br>Just remember that you're at the highest sensitivity setting (say, level 10) when you hear the long beep. The sensitivity will be reduced by one level after each beep. So, instead of going from level 10 to level 1, which is the least sensitive to vibration and bumps, consider going from level 10 to level 1. Listen for the long beep, then press the bell button four or five times to set it to the middle range. To exit and confirm, press the off button. Once more, set it to the least sensitive setting. Locate the long beep first. Then, precisely 9 times (9 short beeps), press the bell button. You've gone too far if you hear the long beep. Just remember to press the off button to confirm and exit. The led light will turn off after a certain amount of time. br>br>To summarize, the most sensitive setting is 10 for the long beep, and the least sensitive setting is 9 for the short beep. I checked the levels and sensitivity levels are set appropriately, but the alarm must be mounted properly, which I believe is why the product is receiving negative reviews for being too sensitive. I've checked the levels and sensitivity levels are set accordingly, but the alarm must be mounted properly. Because of the tilted sensor's design, the alarm is best mounted flat (horizontally on its back) or vertically on its bottom or top sides (the round speaker is located on the front top side). The angle sensor works in the same way as a leveling bubble, but instead of a bubble, it uses a free rolling ball or something similar, and if the alarm is tilted, the ball will roll to the end, triggering the alarm. To work properly, the alarm must be mounted so that the ball remains in the middle and not at the end. br>br>Hopes this helps people who are interested in purchasing this alarm or dissatisfied customers better understand how it works.

I'd buy it again if I had the opportunity
5/5

This alarm does its job well. People frequently test the doors of my older car to see if they are open and look for money or other valuables. It's sensitive enough that if I put it in the driver's door pocket and set the alarm, the alarm will go off if I put the key in the lock. Furthermore, the remote appears to have a reasonable range. The car's alarm can be set or turned off while I'm standing about 25 feet away. br>I am pleased with it and would gladly purchase another.

We purchased this, which I'm sure is unusual
5/5

We bought this remote alarm in the hopes of scaring away the squirrels who were eating all of our birdfeed, which I'm sure is unusual. IT HAD BEEN SUCCESS! We simply place it near the feed, and when a squirrel approaches, we simply press the button on the remote, which causes them to flee. The birds are now the recipients of the birdfeed, rather than the squirrels. We wrapped it in a zip lock sandwich bag because we left it outside in the elements, and it appears to be fine.

The volume isn't too high
3/5

When the alarm goes off outside, I can't hear it from inside; it's only audible if you're close to the alarm. This may be acceptable if you do not have double pane windows or thin walls. br>Then I read somewhere that someone tried to scare away unwanted birds and squirrels with it. The squirrels at the bird feeder had no reaction to the alarm, and the black birds only looked around. So, unless all of the animals in my yard are deaf, this isn't going to work. br>It did frighten my Cockapoo, but he's afraid of any strange noise.

China has yet again delivered a subpar product
3/5

This is a terrible product, and I've been using it since June. The remote battery died, and despite spending $10 on a new battery, I now have two useless alarm clocks and two useless remote controls. None of them work, so I'm out $40 on these ineffective alarms.

This alarm has left me disappointed
3/5

The vendor Although the instructions stated that this would also work for cars, I believe it is better suited for other purposes. In my car, I gave it a shot. It had a minor effect. It won't deter a serious car thief, in my opinion. The remote, on the other hand, was not what I had expected. The instructions said to use a flat head screw driver to install a battery, but there's no way to do that with this remote, and it already had one. I was looking for a remote that would notify me if there was a problem with my car, but this one does not. I believe that this alarm would be more effective at scaring a thief away from a bike or other similar item. Edit: I'm afraid it's too late to return it. I walked over to my car and slid the door open. There was no sound of the alarm clock. This isn't going to work for me, so I'll look for something more dependable, like a remote that warns me when someone is on the prowl.

Thank you so much

Check out my thoughts on the subject. This is fantastic. The siren will sound for 2 to 3 seconds the first time you move it. If you bump it again, you'll get a different result. For 30 seconds, it becomes completely insane. It requires two AAA batteries. br>br> A battery is included in the renote. Furthermore, there is no programming. Now I'm up to 4. One for my motorcycle, leaf blower, truck tailgate, and car, among other things. br>br>It's loud enough to wake up the neighborhood, but not quite enough. It was well worth the money.

It was well worth the money
5/5

This alarm is small, simple to use, motion-sensitive, and well worth the money; I keep it on my dashboard rather than outside my car because I don't want it to startle my small animals. I believe the flashing red light is an effective deterrent, and I keep my two front windows open a half inch to better hear the sound. I wish the siren was a little louder, but it is still audible; however, it is not as loud as a car alarm siren.
