This is better than a traditional air mattress that I previously used. For an air mattress, it works really well as it provides a few extra inches of room as well as extra comfort. This item can be inflated or deflated and stored without a problem. The only time I've tried getting it to work was a couple of times in short spans, so I can not speak to the durability of it until summer but I don't anticipate any problems.
