This smaller cover is made of a rubber-like plastic that simply presses into the hitch mount. Keeps dirt, rain, snow, and other elements out, and at only $4, you can't go wrong with these covers. Great price and they work perfectly; I've attached a couple of photos to show how it mounts. Keep in mind that the pictures were taken after a few weeks of rainy driving, so it was much cleaner when it was brand new!.
Quick Summary: It's the perfect size for my 2" receiver hitch. High quality at a low price. Detailed Review: br>br> It also provides some cushioning to keep my shins from slamming into the hitch receiver, thanks to the material it's made of. If you've ever slammed your shin against one, that's a big plus! This was the cheapest receiver cover on Amazon, whether it was a Prime or Add-On item. I paid a lot of money for this item, and I feel like I got a lot of value for it. br>br>See the attached photos for the hitch on my SUV with and without the cover, as well as shots of the product next to a ruler from the front, back, and side. br>br>After using the cover for two months, I wrote a review and took photos. br>br>Please click Yes if you found this review helpful. For a brief period of time, I enjoyed it. "Smooth paved roads" - this is for you. maybe. I thought it would fit fine, similar to the one on my 4runner, but it bailed on my f150 after 15 miles of gravel/dirt road. As a result, I'm going to replace it with one that attaches to the hitch pin. learn as you go- Why, however, is it taking so long?.
It's straightforward, and when the hitch isn't in use, it gives the area around it a cleaner appearance. However, I wish there were a better way to secure it than friction. When using automated car washes, be careful because the brushes can easily knock it off. It would be perfect if they made it a little longer so that you could put your hitch lock/pin through it.
Makes a better impression. I always seem to misplace them! They vanish from my receiver, so I believe they are popular with others. To make removal difficult for the casual thief, I'll have to create a secret "keeper. " br>br>This makes the receiver tube on the back of the SUV look a lot better.
I buy these a lot because I forget to take them out before going to the car wash, but I must like them because I keep buying them.
