It's tough, but make sure it's centered on the ball's base, or your trailer hitch will pinch it if the ring gets in the way. I remove mine and store it on a small hook inside the bed of my PU so it does not dangle from the hitch.

This item was purchased to protect the hitch ball on my travel trailer. I recently returned from a three-week trip during which the ball cover was removed and replaced several times on the trailer ball. The cover did exactly what it was supposed to do. When the trailer was hitched up, it never came off or became loose, and when the trailer was unhitched, it was always right there to cover the ball. It was not difficult to put on or take off the cover because it was not too tight. The ball cover is exactly what I was looking for.
Installing it was a breeze. Because I don't believe the loop will fall off the ball, I cut it off. It will work with a 2 5/16-inch ball. When compared to other fitted rubber sleeves, it is easier to put on and take off. It keeps the grease from clinging to the bottoms of my pants.
It's a smart idea because it keeps both you and the ball clean. The tether that connects the ball to the ball broke on the first attempt, which was disappointing. Cover can still be used, but the convenience is no longer available. br>I went out and bought another. The same thing happened this time as it did the first time: it was disappointing the first time, but this time it was irritating. br>I would add that the seller should be replaced right away, without question, and at no cost - Regrettably, the same thing occurred once more:.

It's simple to install, and there's no more grease on my hand from trying to get the old cover on, or grease on my pants from unhitching and brushing against the ball while retrieving something from the pickup's bed. I also like that this cover is tethered to the ball so I don't have to go looking for it every time I need it, and that it sits nicely on the hitch when not in use.
I never greased my hitch balls in the past. This was due to the fact that once greased, it spread all over the place. This allows me to grease the ball without having to worry about getting grease on my clothes, hands, or trunk when it's not in use. It isn't the most fashionable piece of clothing, but it gets the job done. Furthermore, once the trailer is attached, I simply leave it hanging. So far, when I arrive at my destination, it has always been there.
This was possibly the best $8 I've ever spent. I've never spent more than 00 in my entire life! Although I tried to avoid rubbing up against a greasy trailer ball hitch whenever I went camping, there were a few times when I wasn't paying attention and ended up with a nice black spot of grease on my pants that required a lot of effort to remove. This is extremely easy to use and appears to be durable enough that you won't have to worry about it falling off. Fantastic and low-cost solution to a simple but inconvenient issue!.
My hitch ball has a strong magnetic pull on kids, which I am well aware of. They can't walk by without suckling up to my greasy ball with their tiny hands. These little rug rats can no longer harm my greasy ball. My truck is no longer covered in greasy little fingers. The issue has been resolved.
