The back window of my 2012 Ford Explorer fits perfectly with this wiper blade. The old wiper blade was easy to remove, and this one fit perfectly in its place. I'm not sure why it came with an extra wiper blade cover when the blade could easily be replaced without taking the cover off. It'll probably end up in my garage as a backup in case the one on my car breaks down.
It appeared to be a well-made product at first glance, but after installing it, I had second thoughts. The wiper blade arm assembly was simple to put together, but the blade part snapped off as I attempted to snap it into the arm. The blade was held to the arm by a small cross piece that snapped off. Plastic that is inexpensive. There were no instructions for assembling the two pieces. To finish the installation, I removed the rubber wiper from the broken part and replaced it with the original blade frame or holder.
I kept looking for a rear windshield wiper for my Explorer and was surprised at how few stores carried it. I was hesitant to order this one because I only needed the blade, but I eventually relented and placed an order. What a shame I didn't do it sooner! Snapping the blade onto my existing arm was simple, and it works perfectly.
It appears to be a bit flimsy, and I assume the wiper blade isn't replaceable. I'm not sure because I haven't looked for a replacement yet. To get the old one off, make sure you have a gear/terminal puller.
Underneath the cap is a single nut. When you remove that, the old wiper housing comes right off, but it's still in good shape. The new one will not seat completely at first, so you'll have to torque it down, which will create the grooves in which the gears will align. br>br>Perfect fit at an excellent price. Highly recommended.
Because the old wiper was tapered, I needed a small puller to remove it. Apart from that, it was simple to use and I'm glad I purchased it.
I was unable to remove the existing arm. I saw a video on how to change the wiper blade alone with a flathead on YouTube. The blade is fine, but the arm was thrown away.
