My rear wiper arm was as sluggish as Bernie Sanders at a Donald Trump rally. Initially, I was concerned that the wiper motor was toast, but the Honda rear wiper arms are sacrificial, meaning that any stress (heavy snow/ice, aggressive car wash brushes, kids yanking it, etc. ) will strip the aluminum bushing inside the arm rather than the motor. br>br>To gently pry the original unit off, use a 10mm socket and a claw hammer. A little bit of anti- Squeeze the threads and knurling with your fingers, then align and tighten the new arm. It includes two caps to cover the joint and a nut to secure it. br>br>Fixing my 2013 Acura MDX was a breeze. I'd buy it again if I didn't have to, but I'm hoping I won't have to.
They claimed it was simply broken and needed to be replaced, at a cost of $139! I declined and returned home, first looking for the exact part on Amazon, which cost $23! After receiving the blade, replacing the arm and installing the new blade took no more than 10 minutes, making it a fairly simple task that anyone can complete. Save $116 by doing it yourself instead of going through a dealer.
Perfect fit for 2013 MDX, gently remove old wiper arm from motor with claw end of hammer, and be aware that serrations in mounting hole that you will see in what's left of old arm will not be on new one, but will instead be formed into smooth bore of new arm's mounting hole as you tighten it into place.
I bought this for my wife's 2013 Acura RDX, but the 14" blades were too big, and they got stuck in the top of the rear window. Instead, I settled on an 11-inch blade. Don't let Amazon fool you; this is for the MDX, not the RDX.
This wiper appears to be a genuine replacement. However, I had to watch videos on YouTube to figure out how to remove the wiper and the arm itself. Neither is particularly intuitive, but once you've seen the video, it's a simple swap.
Someone vandalized my OEM wiper arm, so I had to order this to replace it. When you consider what the insurance company wanted, the price was right on the money. It was simple to set up. My only issue was that I received the incorrect size: So that's why I gave it a one-star rating.
This product was very easy to install myself and saved me money, even for a not-so-handy man who backed out of the garage and destroyed it. The "cap" should be applied with caution, as the plastic prongs on the inside that hold it in place are prone to breaking. Mine broke one of them, but it's still going strong after a month of driving.
I was able to save approximately $130 as a result of this. do- You vs. the Acura dealership It was a breeze to set up.
