I received the arm today, as promised, and had previously inquired about whether or not the blade would ship with the arm because I was unfamiliar with the structure. I got some contradictory responses, which I'm grateful for because I'm not even a vehicle expert, let alone a wiper expert, lol. So, before the new arm arrived, I simply took the old one and examined it before comparing it to the image. So, in case anyone else is curious, this is just the arm. Everything is fine because the blade itself is undamaged, and I'm using the one that came with the broken arm. It's the perfect size for my Expedition 2012!.
The old arm assembly was replaced. It was the perfect fit. Remove an arm that has been on for a long time with a puller; it does not come with a wiper, so I purchased one aftermarket. br>It performs as expected. Some aftermarket units contain all-plastic assemblies that will not withstand car washes. This unit doesn't disappoint and hasn't in the past.
At first, I had my doubts about whether or not this item would work with my 2014 Ford Expedition. I'd been driving around for a while, lamenting the fact that something on my trusty Ford had finally broken due to wear and tear, and I'd been looking for replacement parts that were occasionally priced near $80 in other stores. Because, well, I never bought it. By the time you factored in tax and shipping, the nonfunctional rear wiper wasn't enough of a annoyance to justify spending $100. On a whim, I looked up this piece on Amazon. It appeared to work, but given the price, I wouldn't be disappointed if it didn't. Not only did it match perfectly, but it was also simple to put together. It's not even easy to park in the parking lot at work for 15 minutes. I can see out of the back window again now. Today is a wonderful day.
The installation was simple and quick, but be careful not to stretch or break the plastic. Use only genuine Ford Expedition parts because they are the best. I'm relieved that it's up and running.
Because of how these mount, removing them is extremely difficult, so I had to cut the old one off. The new one, on the other hand, was easy to put on and perfectly fitted. It was significantly less expensive than purchasing directly from Ford.
First and foremost, this is a genuine Ford part. br>Second, this is a genuine Ford part. br>Third, this is br>I would have liked a nut and washer included, but that is a Ford issue, not a seller issue. br>A 13 mm socket/box wrench is required, as well as a method of removing the shaft. On the shaft's tip and behind the wiper arm, I used a long needle nose plier.
Also: There is no blade with this item. Again: It is Ford, not the merchants, who are responsible for this. br>br>The purchase was well worth it.
It was in a bag and labeled as an OEM Ford part with a Ford part number. It's a perfect match for my 2016 Expedition!.
It took me less than 5 minutes to replace this. I only needed a 13mm wrench. It came in a FORD bag and was simple to put together.
