I have a hitch from a different manufacturer that uses a split-ring system. I used a ring lock washer on the hitch head's bottom bolt, and I used the manufacturer's recommended 260 ft-lbs of torque. That lock washer was squished out and destroyed by the lbs of torque. The conical washers were used on both bolts in Curt's hitches, so I ordered these and retrofitted them. I was able to adapt my hitch head to this type of washer. These are superior in every way from an engineering standpoint, as the goal is to maintain axial tension on the threads. They absorbed the necessary torque without causing any damage, and I no longer have to worry about my hitch while towing a 9000 pound travel trailer.
Curt and Draw can be replaced perfectly. Weight-distribution washers are required on tie hitches.
These were high-quality, correct washers that were required for the repair to be completed. I would purchase them again, but make sure you require a 3/4 inch inside diameter.
