These are appealing to me, and they will serve my purposes. They look good, but I'll have to paint the bolts black to make them match the rest of the set. What is the significance of three stars? Because I put it together with extreme caution. When screwing it together, it has a very delicate feel to it. They say not to overtighten, which I didn't, but I prefer things that I can just use and tighten! These appear to be a little more fragile. They'll work fine for my application, but I'm curious how long they'll last. I'm going to get some lock tight and undo and re-do them, but I wish they had a more SOLID BOLT UP feel to them instead of. Oh, sh**, I think I over-tightened them. It appears that I have a good deal. In black, I like how textured it is. I received the genuine article rather than a Chinese knockoff. I'm relieved because I'd have to return them otherwise. For $30 each, these are a steal. Hmmmm, seems a little pricey, but if they had a good solid heavy feel to them, it might be worth it. You've bolted them up, and now you're thinking. . . There's no way this is going to work! Then that price is acceptable; these do work, but how long will they last? I'm not sure what I'm saying. I can feel the screw that holds the L bracket that holds the lights in place in the back. That, I believe, will be the first to fail; however, I wish you could pay for more solid items. This is the best option for what I'm doing, but when bolting them together, GO EASY OR YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. Gentle and delicate. According to one review, the guy cranked it down so low that it cracked in half. They aren't designed to be used in a survival situation. Consider it a light with an X clamp.
I think they look great, but I'm not sure how well they work. I followed the torque specifications instructions, but after driving, they began to rotate on the bar. I sought assistance from Rugged Ridge customer service. The brush guard was polished stainless steel (smooth finish), which I'm sure didn't help. I remounted everything after applying some small strips of 3M double sided tape to the inside of the clamps, as advised by customer service. They appear to be doing well so far, but only time will tell. Finally, the finish isn't tolerant of being turned on and off repeatedly, so proceed with caution when installing and mounting lights.
My bull bar is 2 inches in diameter, but it won't fit even with the longest screws in the box. I could barely get it on a scrap piece of tubing that was around 1. 25 inches in diameter. With a diameter of 75 inches,.
I purchased six of these. As you can see in the photos, I used them to mount 7 ich LED lights on my light bar. They don't look bulky and have a nice appearance. They appear to be of high quality. They are very secure and do not sag. I've only had them on for a month, but I'm confident that they'll hold up and last a long time, especially since they come with screws and washers for a variety of tube sizes. I'll keep you updated if anything changes.
br>The first time I used them was on the front of a 4x4 with a grille guard, where I mounted one LED flood light on each side, aimed at the vehicle's side. I want to be able to see clearly to the side to identify trails, etc. , so having light directed in that direction when necessary is a plus. These were extremely beneficial in that they could be set and re-set at any time. Set the timer until the light beam effect you want is achieved. The X mounts can be left in place as the primary light mount, or they can be removed and a permanent tab welded in place after real-world testing. If desired, they can also be used to mount a radio antenna for a transceiver. If a user does not wish to modify a grill guard with welded tabs, apprehensions about a future sale- Then these are perfect for you, and they can be used over and over again because they are durable and don't wear out easily. br>Overall, these mountains appeal to me. br>don mallard Ozark Mountains- It's a wonderful life!.
There are two sizes of tube openings available. Screws come in three different sizes. It'll work if you experiment with various combinations. I used two short screws and two medium screws, as a result. It was still not strong enough, so I borrowed a trick from another item reviewed and put a piece of bicycle tube underneath it. Solid.
They do a fantastic job of securing your roll cage. However, they only use one bolt to hold the clap in place, and no matter what I do, they loosen up. So they're sitting on my shelf, broken center bolt junk that wasn't worth the money in the first place.
Since the first time I saw it, I've been a fan of the design. br>br>My 1987 Jeep YJ has a lot of fit issues because it was an AMC Jeep that was bought out in the middle of the year. br>br>If you want to attach lights to a crossbar, this is a great option.
