Honestly, they are great but the diameter of the hole is too small to put a bolt through (I'm not sure what size it is, but I'm guessing 1/4 inch) so you need to use a screw or a really small bolt. There are these from Dorman that allow for the use of a small bolt. Even though these work great, I prefer not to use the.
As far as I am concerned, these are okay. When used in ideal conditions, they certainly work well. It is however necessary for me to enlarge the hole where the mounting screw passes through in my case. Rubber isolators are easily bent out of shape due to the metal band that surrounds them. The combination of blessings and curses is both beautiful and tragic. For the price, I can ruin a few and not feel too bad about it.
There are furnace brazed reinforcements at the bolt/screw hole ends of the clamp tangs, which make this a poor quality product. Several clamps separated from the reinforcements after I drilled quarter inch holes. If you're looking to buy from a different manufacturer (not a different seller), I'd recommend purchasing from them. In reality, this clamp's metal is thinner under the rubber cover than it appears.
My favorite part of Amazon is getting these assortments. You can save a lot of time and money by not having to visit the HW store as often. Generally, the clamps are of reasonable quality. They are more or less what you would expect from a hardware On the underside of my car, I mounted my battery cable with these.
The hose clamps are great for mounting wiring under the hood of my 66 Chevy truck as well as running a hose to get the windshield washer fluid to work. Any use I can think of for these will work. Would buy again if the price was right.
It is hard to figure out why some do not like these, as I think they are much better than those at big box retailers.
It would be nice if we could get an additional set with a bigger selection of sizes. It is a great help when it comes to cleaning up wiring.
