I found the swapping of these to be really simple. These were purchased after I installed a short shifter, polyurethane cable bushing, and now these were purchased. There is a much better feeling to the shifts and they are more precise. It's only downside is that it may be a bit noisier than normal, especially if you're slamming the gears, but other than that it's great. It is a good product, but make sure to torque the bolts fast enough to spec It consists of 60 inches.
This item will be installed on my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse. There were some problems with the instructions, but it was a no-brainer to install them with a little research. Added a shifter base that made a big difference. When the old ones were in place, movement was present. This means there is no movement at all with these! I really like the better bushings that have been installed on the energy suspension cables, and it arrived a few days sooner This product has been very good to me.
It would be great to do a mod like this. A shifter plate bushing is used in these bushings. There is a slight improvement in shifting as they tighten up the levers a little. There was a low price for them that I liked.
As far as the shifter itself goes, it is tighter and faster. It is a yes, it is a yes. My shifter is tighter and I can feel smoothness when shifting gears with my eclipse without it getting sloppy. It works fine with the torque aluminum shift cable bushings as well.
It wasn't my fault that the instructions were bad, but I'm pretty good with stuff anyway, so I'm not worried about it. It was surprising to find that these just replaced the rubber shifter mount plate and didn't actually hold the shifter tighter. It's a little firmer now and the vibrations of the vehicle have lessened The change was cheap enough so that it didn't matter.
Initially, I had to search online for directions to install them since the directions were inadequate, but once I found the video, it was a very easy process which smoothes out.
It is important to have parts that are of good quality. These solved all of my shifting issues, and more pressing ones were addressed as well. I feel that these are stiffer than stock and install well, because now I can shift smoothly from 4th to 5th and back, when I couldn't previously, and that was my main complaint.
